The School of Bioengineering and Food Technology under the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology at Shoolini University celebrated Biotech Fest 2K26. The event was sponsored by the Student Research Council, Kanwar Enterprises, Research Aid, and International Scientific and Surgical.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof Myron Christodoulides, a renowned Professor of Bacteriology from the University of Southampton, England, who delivered an expert lecture that bridged the gap between global research and classroom learning. Complementing this academic depth, guest speaker Dr Avinash Mishra, CEO of Growdea Technologies, led an engaging workshop titled, ‘How AI Models are Reshaping Entrepreneurship’. His session provided students with a practical roadmap for navigating the rapidly evolving intersection of technology and business. The inaugural proceedings were overseen by the university’s top leadership, including Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, Registrar Prof Sunil Puri, and Dean Planning Prof JM Jhulka, with Head of School Prof Pankaj Kumar Chauhan delivering the vote of thanks.
The ‘Biotech Venture’ symposium opened the competition, where undergraduate students pitched their research concepts to a panel of entrepreneurs. Parth Sharma emerged the winner at the session, showcasing the next generation of scientific leadership. Simultaneously, the ‘Bio-Shastri’ quiz saw Kartikey Agrawal and Kartik Parihar claim victory after a series of intense tie-breakers, while the ‘Tarq-e-Biotech’ debate competition featured a masterclass in rhetoric from the winning team, ‘Rational Recombinance’, composed of Nikhil Binit, Kashivi Rai, Shohini De, and Sakshi Gupta.
Blending the analytical with the artistic, the ‘Living Palette’ poster-making competition allowed students to visualise complex scientific theories, with Sunidhi Deo securing the top position for her creative interpretation. The festivities reached a crescendo with the ‘Biotech’s Got Talent 2K26’ showcase. This lively finale, featuring everything from mimicry and poetry to dance and song, saw Anveksha Tilwani take home the top prize, bringing the event to an enthusiastic close.
