Fest featured events like Moot Court and PIL Drafting, judged by legal, academic & forensic experts

The Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University, through its Centre for Clinical Legal Education (CCLE), hosted a three-day National Law Fest 3.0. The event brought together over 100 delegates from law colleges and universities across India, combining academic theory with hands-on legal training. 

The fest began with a welcome address by Prof Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, followed by Advocate Rajeev Chauhan, Professor of Practice at Shoolini University, who gave participants an overview of competition rules and regulations. 

Himachal Pradesh National Law University Vice Chancellor Preeti Saxena was the Chief Guest, inspiring students to uphold ethical practices and commit to lifelong learning. Advocate Peeyush Verma, Senior Advocate and President of the Himachal Pradesh High Court Bar Association, shared valuable insights on the evolving responsibilities of law students in addressing societal challenges, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence advancements. 

Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand emphasised the importance of such events in preparing students for real-world legal challenges and providing opportunities to connect with industry professionals. 

Competitions and Winners 

The fest featured various events, including Moot Court, Crime Scene Investigation, PIL Drafting, Blog Writing, Case Commentary Writing, and Legal Opinion Writing. Esteemed judges, advocates, academicians, and forensic experts evaluated the participants. 

  • Moot Court Competition: Asian Law College, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, won the top honours, while Mangalatyan University, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, was the runner-up. Saveetha School of Law, Tamil Nadu, received the Best Memorial award, and Manipal University, Jaipur, was named Best Speaker. 
  • Crime Scene Investigation Competition: Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, secured first place, with Amity University, Punjab, as the runner-up. 
  • Blog Writing Competition: KIIT School of Law, Odisha, won for their compelling entry, while Osmania University, Hyderabad, came second. 
  • Legal Opinion Writing Competition: Chandigarh University, Chandigarh, earned the top spot, followed by Auro University, Gujarat. 
  • PIL Drafting Competition: BR Ambedkar National Law University, Haryana, stood out with their strong drafting skills, with O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonepat, securing the runner-up position. 
  • Case Commentary Writing Competition: Integral University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, excelled with their in-depth analysis, while Jharkhand Rai University, Jharkhand, claimed second place. 

Closing Ceremony 

CCLE Convener and Director Renu Pal Sood presented a comprehensive report on the fest, highlighting the contributions of participants, judges, and organisers. She also appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm of the students who ensured the event’s success. 

The fest concluded with a vote of thanks by Advocate Rajeev Chauhan, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organisers for their invaluable efforts in making National Law Fest 3.0 a grand success.
