Shoolini University inaugurated two synthetic badminton courts as part of its National Sports Day celebrations, taking the total number of such courts on campus to three. Chancellor Prof PK Khosla inaugurated the facilities in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, Director Operations Brigadier SD Mehta (Retd) and Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Prof Neeraj Gandotra.
National Sports Day is observed on August 29 to mark the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The university marked the occasion by opening the courts to increase student participation in sport and provide more space for badminton training.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said the courts were an important addition to the university’s sports facilities. “Sports help young people develop discipline, teamwork, perseverance and a competitive spirit. The new courts will give our students better facilities to train and compete,” Prof Khosla said.
Assistant Director, Sports, Vikrant Chauhan said the university was steadily improving its sports infrastructure. “The new facilities will encourage greater student participation and provide emerging athletes with quality space for training and competition,” he said.
In his closing remarks, Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Prof Neeraj Gandotra said the new courts would support sporting talent and encourage fitness on campus. The additional space will allow more students to practise regularly and prepare for competitive events.
