Raghav Singh, a BBA 3rd-year student at Shoolini University and a professional tennis player, is making significant strides in the tennis world. Ranked 126th in India, Raghav wants to break into the top 50 by next year.

Balancing academics and sports is no easy feat, but Raghav is doing just that. As a student at the School of Business Management, he has learned to manage his time efficiently, proving that success in education and sports can go hand in hand. “Time management and discipline have been key for me,” he says. “Shoolini taught me to stay focused and never give up, both on and off the court.”

Raghav’s journey into tennis began at a young age, inspired by his father and uncle (Tauji), who encouraged him and his brother to play. At just six, he started training at Durga Public School, where he spent 15 years in boarding, relentlessly working on his skills. Watching professional players on television further fueled his passion for the game, and soon enough, tennis became a major part of his life — one he couldn’t imagine giving up.

At Shoolini University, Raghav not only honed his athletic abilities but also gained valuable life lessons. “The university has been instrumental in shaping me as a student and an athlete,” he reflects. He recalled the many workshops and seminars that expanded his knowledge and fondly mentioned the library, where he spent hours studying. For Raghav, education is just as important as his sports career. “Education sharpens problem-solving skills and prepares athletes for life after sports. It’s essential to have a backup plan,” he advises.

Raghav’s message to young athletes is clear: time management and discipline are crucial for success in both sports and studies. He believes in setting clear goals and working hard towards them while maintaining an academic focus to ensure a secure future.

Looking ahead, Raghav wants to compete in larger tournaments and improve his world ranking. “I want to keep advancing in tennis, play in bigger tournaments, and push my rankings higher,” he says with determination. His strategy is simple but effective: continuous mental and physical improvement and a focus on refining the game plan.

Raghav Singh’s story is one of passion, discipline, and resilience. He continues to inspire young athletes to balance their dreams of education and sports.
