iHUB Shoolini explores I-STEM platform at webinar

A webinar on I-STEM: The Platform for Researchers and Funding Opportunities, organised by iHUB Shoolini, covered a range of topics related to the I-STEM goals, iHUB Shoolini and its role in innovation as well as the role of science and technology in entrepreneurship. The event was supported by iHUB DivyaSampark, Technology Innovation Hub, a joint initiative of DST, the Government of India, and IIT Roorkee. The webinar was conducted in collaboration with the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University.

Key speaker Dr Sanjeev Kumar Shrivastava, IIT Delhi, National Coordinator, Indian Science Technology and Engineering Facilities Map (I-STEM), Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, talked about how the I-STEM platform aimed to connect researchers with resources and strengthen the research and development ecosystem.

Dr Deepak Kumar, Associate Professor in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University and iHUB Shoolini Coordinator, warmly welcomed the distinguished visitors in attendance. He spoke highly of iHUB Shoolini and the creativity it fosters, noting how members may work together on spotting issues in the sector and offering suggestions.

Professor Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, spoke to the audience on the importance of entrepreneurship, the value of new businesses, and the function of government and other institutions.

He also talked about the scholarship options for young people in Himachal Pradesh and the financial opportunities/grants that iHUB Shoolini is offering to help new businesses get started in areas like Cyber-Physical Systems in Healthcare 4.0, Industry 4.0, and Smart Cities.
I-STEM, the platform for researchers and funding possibilities, was discussed by Dr Sanjeev Kumar Shrivastava, Chief Operating Officer and National Coordinator, I-STEM, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He spoke on I-STEM and how it may assist researchers from various disciplines by launching, organising, and supporting several government-run scientific initiatives.

Prof RC Sobti, a former vice chancellor of both Panjab University in Chandigarh and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, led the panel discussion and spoke at length about the relevance of I-STEM and how it may facilitate research at universities and colleges. Shoolini University Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dr Deepak Kapoor gave the closing remarks.

The webinar was attended by academics, students, and researchers from several institutions.
