Azhar Khan teaches Clinical and Biomedical sciences to UG & PG students. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, Khan has received Ph.D degree in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He worked on nosocomial and community associated MRSA infection during doctorate. He also pursued postdoctoral research in the field of Diabetes; Obesity mediated Hypertension from University of Houston, TX, USA and Auburn University, Alabama, USA. He received New Investigator Travel Award Trainees for HBPR-2012 by American Heart Association, USA.
Azhar's research includes elucidating the mechanism of antihypertensive bioactive compounds derived from medicinal plants from Western Himalayan region, mainly targeting for renin angiotensin system under the influence of diabetes and obesity and subsequently, exploring the anti-biofilm role of natural extracts against pathogenic bacteria.
