Early mornings, long drills, and packed schedules defined the daily routine of 38 NCC cadets from Shoolini University during the ATC 200 Camp held from July 9 to 18, 2025, at YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni. Led by Camp Senior Under Officer Abdul Lateef, the team stood out for their energy, discipline, and all-around performance — walking away as one of the top-performing contingents of the camp.
Each day at the camp started with 5:30 AM physical training sessions, followed by drill practices where Shoolini cadets showcased flawless formations and unmatched coordination. The training didn’t stop there — they were also groomed in weapon handling, field signals, map reading, and first aid, with inputs from expert instructors and even the Fire Safety Department. Evenings were reserved for sports and cultural bonding, rounding off each day with energy and enthusiasm.
“Every session — from weapon handling to field signals — built skills we’ll carry into our careers. Whether we join the armed forces or any other field, this camp has given us a mindset to lead and perform under pressure.”
Shoolini's cadets dominated every area, winning multiple awards across categories. Under Officer Abdul Lateef led from the front, not only as Camp Senior but also by bagging the coveted Overall Best Cadet (SD) title. Cadet Yuvraj Singh Chandel and Cadet Jyoti Bala followed closely, securing runner-up positions in the SD and SW categories, respectively. The drill squad stole the show, with Under Officer Ashutosh Rana and Sgt. Vanshika Kanwar winning top honours, while Cadet Yuvraj Singh Chandel and Cadet Jyoti added to the team’s success as runner-ups. In firing, Cadet Manju Gora proved her marksmanship with a winning performance, and Cadet Godhuli Jamatia secured the runner-up spot.
The sports arena was no different. Shoolini bagged 15 medals across basketball, volleyball, and badminton. The basketball team featured cadets like Ashutosh Rana, Yuvraj Singh, Swastik Jamwal, Ridham Rana, Harman Rana, Anjali, Parveena, and Alka — all of whom brought home medals. In volleyball, Sgt. Vanshika Kanwar, CPL Vishal Thakur, and cadets Vikrant Guleria and Ritik Rana led the charge, while badminton saw wins from Cadet Yuvraj Singh Somvanshi, Anbi Manhas, and Jyoti.
On the tech front, the team earned three trophies, while cadet pilots secured two medals. The cultural night was a highlight, where the dance team, led by CSM Harman Rana, received special recognition for their spirited performance that lit up the stage.
Behind this phenomenal performance was the consistent guidance and motivation of Care Taking Officer (CTO) Jyoti Devi. Her support, regular drill sessions, and emphasis on teamwork played a vital role in shaping the cadets’ readiness and confidence.
Reflecting on their time at Nauni, the cadets described the experience as intense but rewarding. “Be strong, be accountable, never complain,” said Under Officer Ashutosh Rana. Beyond the medals and trophies, they highlighted the leadership skills, friendships, and resilience they developed during the 10-day program.
Shoolini University congratulates its NCC team for their exceptional performance and spirit at ATC 200.
