SU faculty visits Delhi schools to talk about its latest Biotech program
December was a busy month for the faculty at Shoolini University (SU) as they visited schools in and around Delhi to introduce them to higher learning in biotechnology. They visited five different schools in Delhi and Noida where they met students of Grades 11 and 12, along with their parents, to introduce them to a new program in Biotechnology being offered by the university.
This was a great opportunity for students looking for a career in life-sciences to learn about the newly-launched B.Tech Biotechnology ‘Summit Research Program’, which will start in the new academic year. This program is India’s first undergraduate (B.Tech) add-on program that will be conducted along with the regular engineering curriculum at Shoolini University. The main objective of the program would be to expose B. Tech students to real research, publishing, projects and to prepare students for global studies and opportunities
The faculty informed students about exciting career options in biotechnology and related streams that are available once they finish school. And more importantly, they also told them as to how the university can help them achieve academic and career plans via its counselling and courses. During one of these visits, Shoolini University pro-VC Atul Khosla mentioned that the university has a modern and safe campus, where students enjoy global opportunities. This also helps Shoolini University to stand out as a provider of higher education in the region.
It was also a great opportunity for the faculty to inform parents of these students about future options available at Shoolini University. During one of these visits, School of Biotechnology associate professor Dr. Saurabh Kulshrestha answered queries at Modern School Barakhamba regarding the B. Tech Biotechnology program offered by the University.
Among the schools visited by the university were St. Mary’s School, Bal Bharati Public School, Mann Public School, Modern School Barakhamba and Genesis Global School, Noida. All except the last one are located in Delhi.
