Shoolini IIT Madras MoU

MoU brings IITM CODE Chapters, digital learning, and joint programmes to boost student skills and employability

Shoolini University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras to collaborate on academic initiatives and skill development. This will pave the way for stronger student outcomes and industry-aligned education.

The MoU focuses on launching joint diploma and degree programmes, enhancing student employability, and enabling Shoolini students and faculty to engage in IIT Madras’ digital learning ecosystem. As part of the agreement, Shoolini University will set up IIT Madras CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education) Chapters on its campus to facilitate the smooth rollout of these initiatives.

The MoU was signed by Dean Academic Courses at IIT Madras Prof Prathap Haridoss and Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla.

Prof Khosla described the collaboration as a major step forward in the university’s efforts to provide global learning experiences. “This partnership with IIT Madras aligns with our mission to provide global learning opportunities to our students. Through initiatives such as SWAYAM-NPTEL and IITM’s diploma programmes, we aim to equip our students with cutting-edge skills that enhance their employability and prepare them for the global workforce,” he said.

Recognised for its excellence in research and education, IIT Madras is a premier institution established under the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. Its CODE division leads several nationally recognised outreach and digital programmes, including the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), IITM BS Degree Programmes, online MTech programmes, certification courses, and academic workshops.

Key goals of the collaboration include enhancing student skillsets, boosting career readiness, promoting faculty and student participation in IITM’s digital programmes, and building a stronger academic network through the establishment of IITM CODE Chapters at Shoolini.

This collaboration is expected to bring new opportunities for learners, creating a bridge between academic excellence and real-world industry requirements.

This collaboration strengthens Shoolini University’s broader efforts to integrate high-quality, future-ready education into its core programmes — especially in engineering and technology.

Shoolini University’s engineering programmes blend academic depth with practical exposure. Students learn in cutting-edge spaces such as the AI & Futures Lab, which houses dedicated labs for AI, big data, DevOps, and 3D printing. The curriculum is aligned with industry needs and supported by SPRINT modules, internships, and hands-on projects. With specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and more, students are trained for high-impact careers in the tech sector.

These efforts have translated into excellent outcomes — engineering students have secured placements at leading companies such as L&T, Tata Hitachi, Eicher, Havells, and Tech Mahindra. Shoolini’s emphasis on innovation and research has also contributed to its global reputation, with the university ranked No.1 Private University by Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
