
Shoolini Professor Manju Jaidka delivers talk at the Malaysian University.

Faculty of Liberal Arts Dean at Shoolini University, Prof Manju Jaidka, is visiting universities in Malaysia and delivering invited lectures.
At a conference hosted by the University Sains Malaysia in Penang, the acclaimed professor delivered a plenary talk on 'Belletristic to the Rescue: Transforming Crisis into Creativity in the Himalayan Foothills'. She elaborated on the efforts spearheaded by Shoolini University to maintain a balance during the difficult Covid times. She also delivered an interesting talk to the faculty and students of USM on 'The Stories of our Lives', with a clear focus on creative writing.
At the University of Nottingham Selangor, Prof Jaidka delivered an address on the topic, 'The Magic of the Ordinary'. The faculty and students were enraptured as she spoke about the stories embedded in our daily lives and how to make use of them in creative writing.
Prof Manju is a former professor and chairperson of the English department at Panjab University in Chandigarh. She has authored around 25 books and more than 60 research papers. She has received several national and international awards, including the Fulbright and two Rockefeller Awards. She has held assignments at universities like Harvard, Yale, Oxford, UPenn, Concordia, Dartmouth, Pittsburgh. In Chandigarh, as chairperson of the Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi for eight years, she organised regular literary programmes, including six full-fledged literature festivals.
At Shoolini, with the support of the management and colleagues, Prof Jaidka regularly holds literary events, has curated two Shoolini Literature Festivals. She is now making preparations for the third festival.
As part of a global network of literature scholars, Prof Manju Jaidka has been actively engaged in teaching, research, and networking over the last 48 years. She is now giving the final editorial touches to an Encyclopedia that Routledge has commissioned.
