MoU to enhance research opportunities and academic exchanges

Shoolini University has taken significant steps to strengthen its international collaborations by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Technology PETRONAS, Malaysia, and exploring potential partnerships with the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. These initiatives will enhance research opportunities, academic exchanges, and knowledge sharing between the institutions, furthering the university's commitment to global education and innovation.

The MoU with the Institute of Technology PETRONAS, Malaysia, was signed by Shoolini University Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand and Prof Dato’ Ts Mohamed Ibrahim Bin Abdul Mutalib, Vice Chancellor and CEO of the Institute of Technology PETRONAS.

Prof Ir Ts Nor Hisham B Hamid, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs; M Thavasegaran, Director of Corporate Strategic Planning; and Aminur Rashid, Head of the Career Services Department, played instrumental roles in formalising this partnership.

Under this MoU, both universities have committed to comprehensive exchange programs involving faculty, scholars, students, academic information, and materials. This initiative aims to enhance research and education at both institutions. The MoU supports various collaborative activities, including exchanges, collaboration on ranking activities, joint research programs, and the organization of conferences, workshops, and seminars, to meet the academic and educational needs of both universities.

Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand said the MoU marked the beginning of an innovative journey towards advancing research and knowledge exchange. Rozy Dhanta, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs at Shoolini University, expressed the university's eagerness to offer numerous scholarships for students pursuing Master's and PhD programs. "We are also keen on collaborating in Liberal Arts and initiating faculty exchanges to share expertise," she added.

Delegates from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, visited Shoolini University on February 16th for potential collaboration in higher education and research. Representing the University of Canterbury were Professor Brett Berquist, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Engagement, and Graham Wise, Director of International Development. The meeting delved into various areas of mutual interest, including 2+2 Programs, 1+3 Programs, higher education strategies, and research collaboration.

Additionally, both universities expressed a strong interest in establishing research collaborations across various disciplines. By leveraging each institution's strengths and resources, these collaborative research endeavours have the potential to yield groundbreaking discoveries and make significant contributions to addressing global challenges.
