Grabs top spot in India as Young Private University and 121 globally
Shoolini University has achieved a remarkable milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2024, securing the global position of 121. This makes Shoolini the No.1 Young Private University and 5th Overall in India.
The Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings focus on institutions under 50 years old, offering a unique perspective on emerging leaders in higher education. This year's rankings feature 673 universities, an increase from 605 in 2023, with an additional 499 institutions receiving “reporter” status for their significant contributions despite not meeting the formal eligibility criteria.
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, leads the rankings for the second consecutive year. Turkey has the highest number of ranked institutions at 58, followed by India with 55, and Iran with 46.
Shoolini University's commendable score of 48.2 reflects its outstanding performance in key areas, particularly Research Quality and International Outlook. However, areas for improvement have been identified. These include Industry, Research Environment, and Teaching. By focusing on these parameters, Shoolini University aims to enhance its standing further and break into the top 100 universities globally.
Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla expressed pride and joy over the 2024 rankings, attributing the success to the hard work and dedication of Shoolini's leadership, faculty, students, and staff. “I am thankful for their hard work and dedication,” he said.
Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand acknowledged the milestone as a reminder of the continuous journey towards improvement. Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla emphasised the significance of THE Young University Rankings for younger institutions. “Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said, “Securing a global position of 121 reflects the dedication and hard work of our faculty, students, and staff. This achievement showcases our strengths in research quality and international outlook, driving us towards becoming a top 100 university globally.”
