The four-day-long 20th International conference, ‘400 years of American Literature’, concluded successfully with great takeaways and exchange of ideas.

Organized by the Department of English, Shoolini University, and the Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the World Society (MELOW), the 12 sessions of the conference saw interesting discussions by scholars, independent researchers, academics, and professors who covered major American movements, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama.

A capstone session is slated for October 16, with a goal to give a unique space to the Native-American literature.

The online conference was highly appreciated for facilitating easy conversations and innovative ideas between renowned intellectuals and new scholars in the field of American Literature.

MELOW Secretary Prof Manpreet Kaur Kang said, “Shoolini University is giving us major goals. The way you are moving ahead is really amazing.”

Commending the high level of knowledge sharing at the conference, Prof Paweł Jędrzejko, Head of the American and Canadian Studies, University of Silesia, Poland, invited scholars to contribute their essays to his journal, the Review of International American Studies.

MELOW President and HoD, Department of English, Shoolini University, Prof Manju Jaidka said this was the third International conference hosted by the department in a short span of seven months. She shared that the viewership of the conference was around 2,500.
