
VC urges students to become geographical entrepreneurs who and lead the future of business.
The National Human Resources Development Network (NHRDN) Shoolini Chapter recently hosted the 128th NHRDN Board meeting and an HR conclave titled ‘New Age of HR: Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities’ at the Shoolini University campus. The event significantly strengthened the collaboration between industry and academia, showcasing the latest HR practices and innovations.
During the conclave, Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla highlighted the university's commitment to preparing students for the competitive job market through HR training. “Our continued partnership with NHRDN shows our commitment to providing our students with the skills they need to get top jobs in their respective fields,” he said.
Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla shared his vision for the future, emphasising the need to create entrepreneurs who can work across borders. He predicted India would soon play a big role in the world's workforce. Prof Atul also urged students to take on leadership roles, saying, “Become geographical entrepreneurs who understand HR well to lead the future of business.”
Ashish Khosla, Director of Innovation and AI Learning at Shoolini University, gave an enlightening talk on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and online tools in HR processes. "Working with AI improves our abilities in various areas, including hiring, screening, and employee assessment, through advanced methods like sentiment analysis," he said, highlighting the combined power of human and artificial intelligence.
Prem Singh, National President of NHRDN and Group HR JK Organisation, delivered the keynote address. He emphasised the importance of early preparation for those aiming for high-ranking positions. He also urged students to keep updating their knowledge and skills and to use AI effectively to navigate the changing HR landscape.
The panel discussion members were Agniwesh Thakur, National Treasurer of NHRDN, and Director of Human Capital Consulting Deloitte; Prof Munish Sahrawat, President and Dean of Faculty of Management Sciences at Shoolini University, and Prof BK Kaul, Professor of Practice at Shoolini University. The panellists shared their insights on embracing challenges, leveraging technology, and maintaining a curious mindset as key drivers for personal and professional development. Dhananjay Singh, Director General, NHRDN, and Nalin Ranjan Srivastava, Deputy Director, NHRDN, also attended the conclave.
The event wrapped up with a vote of thanks from Arvind Nanda, President (People Practices and HR) at Shoolini University. Nanda expressed his gratitude to all participants, especially Prem Singh, for his vital role in the success of the Shoolini NHRDN chapter's event.
The HR Conclave served as a platform for sharing innovative ideas. It reinforced Shoolini University's role in promoting collaborations between industry and academia to shape future business leaders, said Poonam Nanda, Dean of Student Welfare and the session's moderator.
