This Biosciences Society is a trainee-led initiative to create a thriving community of biotechnology, biosciences, and biomedical enthusiasts where knowledge is shared and circulated. The club believes that the biotechnology sector in India is at the dawn of a new era of growth which forays into critical industries like pharmaceuticals, medicine, agriculture, environment, information technology, services, biosimilars, and many more. This places India's working population in an advantageous position.
The club members aspire to create an inclusive environment for students aiming to make careers in academia or industry in biotechnology, biosciences, and biomedical sciences by conducting bi-monthly journal club sessions, symposia, research-based idea-building competitions, biotech entrepreneurship boot camps, mentorship, professional development sessions, and peer learning summer/winter schools (where students teach students).
