Assistant Professor
Shikha is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University, with specialisation in Pharmacology. She holds a Masters in Pharmacology from Chitkara University, Punjab, and Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Himachal Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (HIPER), Nadaun, Himachal Pradesh.
Asst Prof Shikha has over 8.5 years of teaching experience across reputed institutions, including HIPER (Nadaun), Maharaja Agrasen University (Baddi), Maharishi Markandeshwar University (Ambala), and Global College of Pharmacy (Anandpur Sahib).
Her academic roles encompass undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, academic planning, student mentoring, outcome-based education (CO-PO mapping), and accreditation activities related to NBA and NAAC.
Her research interests include neuropharmacology, pharmacological preconditioning, inflammation, epilepsy, phytopharmacology, and drug discovery. She has strong experimental expertise in in vivo pharmacological models, isolated tissue studies, animal handling, and evaluation of anti-epileptic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-ulcer agents.
Her technical proficiency includes plant extraction, phytochemical screening, formulation development, and analytical techniques such as HPLC and UV spectrophotometry, with a research approach integrating traditional medicinal knowledge and modern pharmacology.
Asst Prof Shikha has published research and review articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals. She has also contributed to academic administration through the organization of seminars, conferences, and faculty development programs, and has actively participated in numerous national and international academic events related to pharmacology, drug discovery, nanotechnology, pharmacovigilance, pharmacogenomics, and pharmaceutical education.
She has also participated in programs sponsored by UGC, AICTE, DBT, PTU, and the Himachal Pradesh State Pharmacy Council.
