Nishtha Shukla Anand
Professor
Woman Entrepreneur of the Year | Founder, Pen Pundit Media Services & TechThirsty.com | Former Journalist, Reuters & India Today
At Shoolini University, the Faculty of Media & Liberal Arts is led by Prof Nishtha Shukla Anand, who brings a rare mix of literary training and industry experience to the role.
Prof Nishtha Anand holds a BA (Honours) and MA in English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, one of India's most respected institutions for the humanities, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from St Xavier's College, Mumbai. That grounding in literature and media runs through how the curriculum is built today, with ideas, language, and critical thinking valued as much as technical skill.
Before academia, Prof Nishtha Anand worked with leading media houses including Reuters and the India Today Group, and went on to spend more than two decades as a content entrepreneur across digital marketing, content strategy, and brand building. Pen Pundit Media Services, which she founded, delivered content and digital marketing solutions to startups and established companies, and TechThirsty, launched under her leadership, supports women in technology. The Google 'Woman Entrepreneur of the Year' award is among the honours the work has earned. That experience now guides how the Faculty trains its students, with real-world relevance built into the programs.
She sees the humanities and technology as partners, not rivals. As AI takes on the routine work of language, students can focus on what matters most, from ideas and cultural context to meaningful conversation. For her, AI makes liberal arts richer, and this is the best time in decades to study it.
Under her leadership, the Faculty of Media & Liberal Arts encourages students to move across disciplines, pairing philosophy with data science, literature with psychology, and history with emerging technology.
