Vihang Vivek Ghalsasi is an Assistant Professor at Shoolini University. He is a molecular biologist with a PhD from Heidelberg University, Germany, and a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from IIT Bombay. He has qualified NET.
Asst Prof Vihang brings seven years of expertise to his role. He has served as a technical lead at Syngene International in Bengaluru, India, specialising in molecular biology and the microbial expression of recombinant proteins.
Asst Prof Vihang co-founded a biotech startup that produces animal-free dairy proteins using genetic engineering and precision fermentation.
He has also worked as a quality analyst at Crimson Interactive in Mumbai, assisting non-native English-speaking researchers in publishing their work. As a certified copy editor from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS), he is known for conducting impactful workshops on scientific writing, helping students and early-career researchers enhance their scholarly output.
His research focuses on Himalayan biodiversity, using omics techniques. He mentors four doctoral candidates and leads a team exploring metabolites and antimicrobial properties in local foods.
