Assistant Professor
Swati is an Assistant Professor at Shoolini University. She completed her B Tech in Biotechnology (Hons) from Himachal Pradesh University and her Master’s degree from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. She holds an M Phil and a PhD in Biotechnology from Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Solan.
Asst Prof Swati has worked as a Project Associate on a project funded by the Department of Environment, Science, and Technology (DEST), Shimla, focused on treating industrial wastewater using herbal plants. Her research delves into wastewater treatment methodologies, in vivo and in vitro studies of plant extracts, nanomaterial synthesis techniques, and the utilisation of engineered nanomaterials in various medicinal applications.
She has published numerous high-quality research articles and book chapters in reputed Scopus and SCI journals/books and has filed many patents in her field. As an educator, Swati demonstrates a strong dedication to her profession and a commitment to her role.
Her contributions to research and publications have been recognised with an appreciation certificate from Shoolini University. Her startup was selected as one of the top five finalists out of 100 firms across India in the Israel Tie-CHD B Plan Competition, hosted by the Embassy of Israel in Chandigarh in December 2022.
Swati was awarded the ‘Best Bionanotechnologist’ Certificate in a Bio-nanotechnology (CBNT) course by the Association of Indian Biologists (AIB), Chennai. She secured a prestigious grant of Rs 10 Lakh in the IIGP 2.0-University Challenge competition in 2019, organised by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and funded by the DST, Govt of India, TATA Trusts, and Lockheed Martin Corporation, USA.
Her research concept was shortlisted in the top 20, leading to her invitation to attend the BEST Entrepreneurship Workshop organised by the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) and the DBT, Govt of India, held at Best Western Resort Country Club, Manesar, Gurgaon.
