Nitesh Kumar

Originally from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, with a rich tapestry of experiences in the hospitality industry. My journey commenced with four enriching years in the Housekeeping Department of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, where I honed my skills amidst the luxurious settings of Oberoi Udaivilas and Wildflower Hall, Shimla, An Oberoi Resort.

Equipped with a Bachelor's degree from IHM Shimla and a Master's obtained through distance learning from IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), I've continually sought to deepen my knowledge and expertise in hospitality management.

Specializing in Housekeeping, I possess comprehensive knowledge across various aspects of the department, including lost & found procedures, cleanliness & hygiene standards, laundry operations, desk control, chemical management, and inventory control. My hands-on experience in dealing with mechanical machinery further adds to my proficiency in ensuring the seamless functioning of operations.

Transitioning from industry to academia in March 2020, I embarked on a new chapter of my career, completing a Master's program in Travel & Tourism in June 2021. Subsequently, I dedicated a year each to roles at HIET College, Kangra, and SIHM Dharamshala, contributing to the education sector with my industry insights and academic expertise.

Recently, I have embarked on a new journey as an Assistant Professor at Shoolini University - The School of Hospitality & Hotel Management.

Beyond the realms of academia and industry, I find solace in the timeless melodies of old songs and Ghazals, a testament to my appreciation for art and culture. With a fervent commitment to excellence and a passion for continuous learning, I am poised to make meaningful contributions to the hospitality education landscape at Shoolini University.
