Monu Kumar Shukla is an Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Research Fellow at Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. He completed his Master’s in Pharmacy specialising in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
The doctoral research he is conducting focuses on ‘Development of multifunctional nano assembly for cancer therapies’, aiming to engineer nanocarriers that can disrupt cancer cell structures to enhance therapeutic efficacy.
Asst Prof Shukla is a PhD research trainee in Taiwan under the TEEP internship program. He is working at the Innovative Nanomedicine Lab, Department of Medicinal and Applied Chemistry, Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan under the guidance of Prof Wei-Peng Li. He has worked as a PhD research trainee at the Industrial Waste Utilisation, Nano and Biomaterials Division, CSIR-Advanced Materials & Processes Research Institute (CSIR-AMPRI), Bhopal under the guidance of Dr Raju Khan.
Asst Prof Shukla is also the Founder & Director of the Drug Chemistry Research Centre (DCRC labs), Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. His past roles include Assistant Professor at the Computational & Synthetic Chemistry Division, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, VNS Institute of Pharmacy, Bhopal and Lecturer for Biology & Chemistry at Arera Convent Higher Secondary School, Bhopal.
His research interests include the development of multifunctional nano assemblies, in silico drug design, and discovery aimed at cancer diagnosis and treatments. Asst Prof Shukla has published over 35 high-quality research and review articles and 6 book chapters in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals/books. Additionally, he has filed more than 14 utility patents related to his research field.
As a lifetime member of various scientific societies, Asst Prof Shukla has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Best Scientist Award under the Young Scientist Award category in 2024. He has presented more than 40 posters and research articles and delivered numerous scientific talks at various national and international conferences, seminars, and webinars. His work has been cited over 168 times, with an h-index of 8 and an i10-index of 7. Asst Prof Shukla has also published 12 articles with impact factors exceeding 5.
Asst Prof Shukla has worked as a Project Assistant-II at the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, where he worked on the formulation and characterisation of drug-loaded human serum albumin nanocarriers. This research culminated in the publication of the manuscript titled "Tumor micro-environment targeted collagenase-modified albumin nanoparticles for improved drug delivery" in the Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology.
