Garima Rana is a Research Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Sciences at the School of Physics & Materials Science, Shoolini University. She has a remarkable academic background and holds a PhD and an MSc in Physics from Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. Garima completed her undergraduate studies with a BSc (Hons) in Physics from MLSM College, Sundernagar, Himachal Pradesh.
Asst Prof Garima Rana is a key member of the International Research Centre of Nanotechnology for Himalayan Sustainability (IRCNHS). Her passion for advancing knowledge and addressing complex research challenges is evident in her extensive expertise and experience within the academic community. Her research expertise spans the fabrication of nanomaterials using various techniques, including Sol-gel auto combustion, green synthesis, polymerisation, solid-state, hydrothermal, solvothermal, and coprecipitation methods. These techniques have enabled groundbreaking discoveries and substantial contributions to the scientific community. Asst Prof Garima Rana excels in analysing characterisation data and is proficient in numerous characterisation techniques such as X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, and many more.
A significant aspect of her research includes the development of magnetically recoverable photocatalysts. These catalysts are functionalised to degrade specific molecules in wastewater, enhancing the efficiency and reusability of the photocatalysts. Her work in this area has been particularly impactful, offering practical solutions for environmental sustainability.
Asst Prof Garima Rana has published numerous high-quality research articles and book chapters in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals and books. She is also a prolific inventor, having filed over six patents.
