A team of Shoolini University researchers, comprising Amanpreet Kaur Virk and Aaliya Ali, along with the faculty mentor Dr. Saurabh Kulshrestha, received the award of Rs 10 lakh at an award ceremony held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The team had participated in DST - Lockheed Martin - Tata Trusts, India Innovation Growth Program 2.0, University Challenge 2019 and had emerged as a winner.
It had given a presentation on the use of Moringa seeds to purify water through the use of small and inexpensive kits similar to tea bags.
The award was conferred to them by Secretary DST, Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, in the presence of delegates of Lockheed Martin, Tata Trusts, FICCI, IUSSTF.
The award money is to be used for the further improvement of there Moringa based water purification kit, according to Dr. Kulshrestha.
