Shoolini University now offers Post Graduate (PG) Diploma in Journalism for aspirants of media studies. This is a comprehensive 11-month course aimed to produce well-rounded journalists who are skilled with the tools and requirements of journalism in a digital environment. PG Diploma in Journalism: Course Curriculum

The PG Diploma in Journalism will offer intense practical training in:

Print Journalism: News and features reporting and practical training in editing skills.

Electronic/ Video Journalism: Live recordings of events and interviews in Radio and TV studio.

Photo Journalism: Workshops and assignments on still news photography.

Tools of Digital Media: Expertise with existing and emerging tools of social media.

Legal and ethical aspects: Defamation and contempt of court laws related to media ethics of journalism.

Interviews/Interactions: Art of conducting interviews would be a regular feature throughout the course.

Writing blogs: Students would be asked to write blogs and encouraged to send articles for publication.

Current Affairs: Regular updates on current affairs and discussions on the impact and analysis of breaking news.

English writing and speaking skills: All students to be skilled in public speaking and participating in debates.

Live projects and assignments: Teams of students would be given practical assignments and trained to prepare digital reports.

Field trips: To newspaper offices, television studios and offices of digital news websites etc. Interactions with editors and senior editorial staff.

Development of Website: To create and manage website on current activities on the campus.

Campus newspaper: To bring out initially a weekly newspaper and aim at a daily newspaper on the web.

Community radio: Training in radio jockeying and to manage a community radio station.

Internships: One-month internship with leading newspapers, TV channels and Digital Journalism websites.

Placements: Media houses constantly look for efficient young journalists. With the exponential growth in media, particularly the digital media, there would be even greater demand. Such is the demand that offers are made even during internships.
