At a time when majority of online research journals take money to publish a research paper, a faculty member of Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences will receive an award worth USD 1,500 for contributing his high impact research in a reputed American Chemical Society (ACS) Journal. ACS is the world’s largest and most influential scientific society.
The aforementioned Journal is paying this award to Dr. Amit Kumar , Assistant Professor ,Faculty of Basic Sciences Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, on the basis of the quality as well as the scope of research he has undertaken which also highlights the credibility of the publishing house.
The paper on “Water Purification through simple and cost effective technique by use of nanocomposites”, has been co-authored along with Dr. Gaurav Sharma and Dr. Pradeep Singh, faculty of Basic Sciences. This research work focuses on use of eco-friendly materials in nano dimensions for removal of highly toxic industrial pollutants from water. The methodology uses sunlight as a source of energy for removal of pollutants. The main advantage of this research technique is the minimal usage of materials for purifying large volume of waste water. The research work has potential for large scale water purification which is becoming necessary for providing fresh and potable water for common man.
According to the publication house, Dr. Amit may use the financial reward for Global public access and future publications. The selection for this prestigious reward was done on the basis of the quality of research paper and the practical effectiveness of the same.
This success at the international arena by a faculty of Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences is a step towards fulfilling the University’s vision of figuring amongst the Top 200 Global universities by year 2022.
