Prof P.K.Khosla, Vice Chancellor, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences : Academic visit to China and Taiwan
A delegation consisting of three members under the Chairmanship of Prof P.K.Khosla, Vice Chancellor, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, is back after 12 days academic tour from August 24 to September 4, 2014 to China and Taiwan. In China the delegation attended the Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) meet from 24-26 August, 2014 and Cultural Roundtable Conference on the Silk Road Economic belt, 23-27 August, at Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China. The HUC meet was attended by delegates from India, China, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan alongwith a host of experts on mountain development from Scandinavian countries, Europe and USA. This offered an excellent opportunity to the delegation to develop international tie-ups. Prof M.Hadi Hedayati, Vice Chancellor, Kabul University has requested the Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences to assist them in establishing College of Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering at Kabul University. Prof Hadi will be visiting Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences in mid October for signing the MoU.
At Lanzhou University, an MoU was signed for exchange of teachers and students and joint research work along with teaching of Chinese language to the students of Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences. The MoU is based on the principle of reciprocity. The grassland management and biotechnology (gene mining and gene sequencing) were chosen as the areas of common interest in the first phase. Pharmaceutical Sciences and Electronics and Communication will be taken up subsequently.
With Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan, a road map of academic activities was finalized with Deans and Directors of the University. A delegation of scientists from College of Electronics and Communication will be visiting Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences in the third week of September.
Prof Dun Jong of Tiwan National University of Science &Technology shall be visiting Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences during end September to finalize the MoU.
