Former DG ICAR Dr. RS Paroda delivers Guru Series Lecture at Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences
Former director general of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) &secretary at Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE)Dr. RS Paroda visited Shoolini University recently. He was invited to deliver a Guru Series Lecture at the university premises. The lecture was titled ‘Scaling Innovations in Natural Resource Management for Sustainable Agriculture’.
In his talk, Dr. Paroda stressed upon future agricultural challenges that people in India and across the globe are likely to face. He also talked about measures that should be taken to feed a population of 9.9 Billion people by 2050.The talk was attended by a large audience that included Vice Chancellor Prof. PK Khosla.
Currently, Mr. Parodais the chairman of the Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences. He is an accomplished plant breeder and geneticist, known for his work in modernization and strengthening of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) in India, Central Asia and Caucasus.
There have been many feathers to Dr. Paroda’s cap. The awards and recognition that he has received include the highly regarded Padma Bhushan, a Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Prize, an ICAR Team Research Award and a FICCI Award.
