Automotive engineering at Shoolini becomes job-oriented
Anand Automotive Group, leading manufacturer of automotive components and systems in India further strengthened its ties with Shoolini University, when the curriculum for its B Tech in Mechanical Engineering was revised in consultation with the high power team from the Anand Automotive Group, comprising of Saideep Rathnam, Rajendra Abhange and Arvind Nanda at a meeting held here.
This development is the follow up of an MOU that was signed earlier between two organisations for imparting B Tech programme in Mechanical Engineering for enhancing the knowledge and educational qualifications of diploma holder employees of Anand Group.
To meet the requirements of the industry and to enhance the employability of Shoolini graduates, the revised course curriculum lays thrust on production engineering covering the latest technologies with the increase in the course content from 30% to 40% in this subject. A new concept of Project based teaching has also been introduced from the 2nd year onwards for each subject. For the overall development of these students and to groom them in to future managers, subjects like project management, organisational behaviour and costing have been also added. Keeping a track with the latest requirements of automotive industry, the course content also includes topics like total production management, safety practices in production and infotainment. The curriculum has also been modified with more emphasis on statistical techniques in production.
Speaking in this regard, Dr. P.K.Khosla, Vice Chancellor Shoolini University said that in today’s time of cut throat competition and pressure, there is need for maintaining stress free lifestyle in order to enhance productivity, and for this he laid special emphasis on introducing a course on Spirituality and Meditation which also forms part of the curriculum.
