Master of Arts in Sociology is a 2-year program at Shoolini University that focuses on human society, its origin, evolutionary stages, and associated problems. The study helps students determine ways of overcoming those problems. The specially designed curriculum prepares students to understand societies and communities across the world.

Students learn about the sociology of economic life, understand Indian sociologists and different perspectives of Indian society, structure, system and problems like the Indological approach, conflict approach, structural and functional approach and subaltern approach. It helps them understand the recent developments in the areas of sociology of tribes and familiarise them with a critical understanding of the ethnographic work on tribes.

This practice-oriented sociological research methods course aims at enabling students to frame a research question, fashion appropriate methods to address it, and derive relevant conclusions. Additionally, upon completion of the program, students will understand the meaning of gender sensitisation, gender and sexuality, women’s issues and challenges, and women empowerment.
