Within 10 years of its inception, Shoolini University is steadily climbing the top, and emerging as one of the top institutions of the country. As per the latest all-India rankings released by the National Institutional Rankings Framework (NIRF) on Thursday, only two universities from Himachal Pradesh figure in the top 150 slot, and Shoolini University of Bio Technology and Management Sciences is one of them! Shoolini shares the 101-150 band with the Jaypee University of Information Technology. The announcement was made by the union HRD minister Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal during a virtual conference.
The well-established Himachal Pradesh University and the Chitkara University find a place in the 151-200 band.
Several other Himachal Pradesh-based universities and institutions, including the Central University and Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi, do not find place among the top 200 universities.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi, has been ranked 67th among all institutions in the country. Shoolini University, Jaypee University and NIT, Hamirpur, figure in the band of 151-200 of all the institutions of higher learning in the country. It is for the fourth year in a row that the university has the distinction of being placed in the 101-150 band of top universities in the country.
Its pharmacy department has been ranked 39 while the management department has been placed in the 76-100 band. For the first time, Shoolini University’s engineering department has been ranked at 112. This is a great achievement for the university.
Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Prof P K Khosla said retaining a slot among the top 150 universities for the fourth consecutive year, despite an increase in the competition, was heartening. While congratulating the faculty and students for the achievement, he said the University would continue to strive to do even better in the coming years.
Research is a strong pillar of academics at Shoolini University. The faculty and students have received several accolades due to the high quality of research being carried out on the campus.
As per the India Today rankings, the university is positioned at Number 19 among Private Universities and Number 4 in Innovation and Research. It was the third highest patent filer among private institutions in 2019, including IITs and IIMs. The faculty and students of the university have so far filed 400+ patents. Several patents are in the process, some at advanced stages.
At Shoolini, special emphasis is laid on the quality of publications in which research papers of faculty members and students are published. They are always encouraged to file in publications approved by Scopus.
The university has an H-Index of > 55. We have been ranked 34 among all 1000 universities and one lakh plus colleges by SCIMAGO Institutions Ranking in 2020. As per the Scopus Global research Data, Shoolini is Number 1 in research H Index for all Indian Institutions established after 2009.
By 2022, Shoolini University is all set to realise its vision to be a top 200 global university.
