{"id":3159,"date":"2022-02-28T10:22:50","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T10:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.shooliniuniversity.com\/?p=3159"},"modified":"2023-01-19T07:32:20","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T07:32:20","slug":"shoolini-celebrates-national-science-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shooliniuniversity.com\/blog\/shoolini-celebrates-national-science-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Shoolini celebrates National Science Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Solan, Feb 28<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shoolini University hosted the National Science Day, \u0018<strong>Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav<\/strong>\u0019 under the STUTI Programme supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in association with the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumental Facility, Panjab University, on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students and faculty members of six premier schools from Solan, Shimla and Kasauli were present during the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his address, Chancellor <a href=\"https:\/\/in.linkedin.com\/in\/prem-kumar-khosla-531582140\">Prof PK Khosla<\/a> emphasised the importance of scientific journals and research publications. Talking about Sir CV Raman&#8217;s life and his discovery, he said, \u001cThe only profession that will make you immortal is science.\u001d He welcomed all students to Shoolini University, saying, \u001cthe burden is on you to make India a science-driven country.\u001d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice Chancellor <a href=\"https:\/\/in.linkedin.com\/in\/atulkhosla1\">Prof Atul Khosla<\/a> discussed skills that can make us all winners in the future. He spoke with the students about their future and the future of science. Elaborating on the value of teamwork, he shared anecdotes about his college days and used real-life examples to discuss the convergence of science and mathematics. \u001cIn the future, collaboration will be the most important skill to succeed,\u001d he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event began with the Lamp Lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, followed by faculty felicitation from various schools. The Microbiologist Society of India also launched its Microbiology Calendar. On this day every year, India celebrates National Science Day to mark the discovery of the &#8216;Raman Effect&#8217; by Sir CV Raman 94 years ago.
