{"id":13521,"date":"2025-12-02T16:06:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T10:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shooliniuniversity.com\/blog\/?p=13521"},"modified":"2025-12-02T16:06:34","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T10:36:34","slug":"students-gain-ai-skills-at-pharma-certification-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shooliniuniversity.com\/blog\/students-gain-ai-skills-at-pharma-certification-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Students gain\u00a0AI skills at Pharma Certification Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/shooliniuniversity.com\/school-of-pharmaceutical-sciences\">School of Pharmaceutical Sciences<\/a>, E-YUVA Centre, and\u00a0iHUB\u00a0Shoolini\u00a0organised a three-day Pharma Workshop and Certification Programme on\u00a0\u2018Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical Sciences\u2019,\u00a0supported by E-CELL IIT Hyderabad.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event\u00a0provided students with practical and conceptual grounding in the use of Artificial Intelligence across key areas of the\u00a0pharmaceutical sciences. It is being held in two phases \u2014 the Pharma Certification Programme at\u00a0Shoolini\u00a0University, followed by the Zonal Competition at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iith.ac.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IIT Hyderabad<\/a>, where five selected students will\u00a0represent\u00a0the university.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inaugural session featured an address by&nbsp;Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, who spoke about the need to adopt emerging technologies to advance research and academic growth. Prof Ashish Khosla, President Innovation and Marketing,&nbsp;Shoolini&nbsp;University, delivered a lecture on&nbsp;\u2018Artificial Intelligence and Health Sciences\u2019,&nbsp;outlining how AI is reshaping protein structure prediction, diagnostics, and drug research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shooliniuniversity.com\/faculty\/profile\/deepak-kumar\">Prof\u00a0Deepak Kumar<\/a>, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chief Coordinator of the E-YUVA Centre &amp;\u00a0iHUB\u00a0Shoolini, outlined the workshop\u2019s\u00a0objectives. He noted that the sessions would strengthen student skills in AI-driven compound generation, retrosynthesis, image analysis, and other areas\u00a0of\u00a0modern drug discovery.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over three days, students engaged in technical sessions, hands-on modules, and guided exercises that&nbsp;demonstrated&nbsp;AI\u2019s growing role across the pharmaceutical value chain. They built simple web portals \u2014 including platforms&nbsp;for reporting medicine-related side effects \u2014 and worked with real health datasets to develop&nbsp;predictive machine learning models. They also learnt fundamentals of Python-based data analysis and visualisation. A dedicated session on Responsible AI used real-life cases to show how algorithmic bias can&nbsp;emerge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pharma Certification programme concluded with the announcement of five students shortlisted for the Zonal Championship at IIT Hyderabad.
