A team of researchers at Shoolini University<\/a> has developed a cutting-edge AI & ML model that could significantly improve the early detection of breast cancer \u2014 a disease that continues to affect millions globally.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by Associate Professor Gaurav Gupta, along with Assistant Professor Bharti Thakur, Shivani Bhardwaj, and research scholar Abdullahi Mohamed, the team explored multiple ML algorithms before narrowing down to three high-performing models: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression, and K-Nearest Neighbours (KNN). These were combined into a powerful ensemble model designed to boost diagnostic accuracy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researchers tested two ensemble strategies \u2014 hard voting and soft voting \u2014 using a comprehensive dataset that contained clinical and genetic data of breast cancer patients. To enhance efficiency, they applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Neighbourhood Component Analysis (NCA) for feature selection and data reduction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results were striking. The final model achieved an accuracy of 99.6%, with high scores across precision, recall, and F1 metrics. Validation tools such as ROC curves and confusion matrices confirmed the system\u2019s robustness and reliability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis research has the potential to transform how breast cancer is diagnosed,\u201d said Gaurav Gupta<\/a>. \u201cBy integrating multiple intelligent algorithms, we\u2019ve created a tool that supports doctors with faster and more accurate diagnoses. Crucially, it aids early detection \u2014 which is key to saving lives,\u201d he adds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to be both scalable and cost-effective, the system can be integrated into hospital software or diagnostic apps. It holds particular promise for rural and underserved areas, where access to advanced equipment is often limited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMachine learning tools like this can reduce healthcare costs by cutting down on unnecessary testing and minimising misdiagnoses,\u201d Gaurav Gupta added. \u201cThese can be used in public hospitals, primary health centres, and mobile platforms,\u201d he emphasised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By blending advanced AI techniques with real-world applications, Shoolini\u2019s researchers<\/a> are taking a major step toward accessible, affordable, and early breast cancer detection \u2014 helping bridge gaps in India\u2019s healthcare ecosystem and beyond.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
