Dr Radha Earns International Fellowship for Botanical Research

Shoolini University Assistant Professor (Dr) Radha, a Fellow of the Linnean Society (FLS), has been appointed a Botany Fellow and International Advisory Board Member at Beyt Nahrin – The Mesopotamian Academy of Sciences and Arts.  

Beyt Nahrin is an international academy dedicated to honouring the scientific and cultural legacy of the Mesopotamian region. It brings together scholars from across the world to advance research, arts, and knowledge rooted in one of civilisation's oldest traditions. 

Dr Radha's appointment recognises her outstanding academic excellence, distinguished research contributions, and dedicated service to the advancement of botanical sciences. Her research sits at a meaningful intersection: ancient plant wisdom validated through modern science, particularly her work documenting traditional Himalayan knowledge systems. 

Talking about the recognition, Dr Radha said, "It is an honour to represent Indian research and the field of medicinal plants and traditional knowledge on an international platform. This motivates me to go deeper into the work that connects our Himalayan heritage with the global scientific community. I am thankful to Shoolini Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, Registrar Prof Sunil Puri, the Dean of Research and the entire Shoolini family for their continuous support and guidance." 

The Academy's mission to preserve the legacy of Mesopotamia and to inspire future generations through knowledge, innovation, and the arts closely mirrors the research philosophy Dr Radha has pursued at Shoolini. Ideathon 2K26 Puts Student Ideas in the Spotlight

Shoolini University's School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, in collaboration with the E-YUVA Centre and iHUB Shoolini, hosted Ideathon 2K26 — a multi-disciplinary student innovation event focused on transforming healthcare, pharmaceuticals and sustainable development. 

Students from Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, BCA and Microbiology presented forward-thinking concepts spanning herbal treatments for breast cancer, plant-derived drugs and nanoparticles, AI applications in clinical systems, smart medication-tracking tools, and strategies for medicinal plant cultivation. The Yogananda School of AI, Computers and Data Science also contributed, reflecting the event's strong emphasis on integrating data science with healthcare innovation. 

Addressing participants, Prof Deepak Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chief Coordinator of the E-YUVA Centre — supported by DBT BIRAC — urged students to channel their ideas into meaningful, real-world solutions, stressing the value of creativity, entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary collaboration. 

Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla congratulated the organising teams and encouraged students to pursue research-driven ideas that could benefit society at large. 

Dr Abhishek Singh wrapped up the event by acknowledging the contributions of participants, mentors and organisers in making Ideathon 2K26 a success.

Shoolini Faculty Shine at International Conference

Two faculty members from Shoolini University have brought recognition to the institution by securing top honours at the 4th Global Conference on Natural Products and AYUSH System of Medicine, held at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. 

Dr Monika Singh secured First Position in the Oral Presentation under the Non-Communicable Diseases and Disorders category, while Dr Aditi Sharma received the Best Oral Presentation Consolation Award in the Faculty category. The conference was organised by the Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER. 

Both faculty members are associated with the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University and were recognised for their research contributions and scientific presentations among participants from across the globe. 

The awards were presented by distinguished academicians, including Prof Dulal Panda, Director, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, and Prof Bikas Medhi, Chairman, Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Blood Donation Drive

Blood Donation Drive Draws Strong Response on Campus

Shoolini University, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, organised a blood donation drive aligned with the vision of a healthier and socially responsible nation under Viksit Bharat. 

Students and faculty members turned up in large numbers, registering 99 participants. Around 80 volunteers donated blood during the camp. The turnout reflected a strong sense of responsibility and willingness to contribute to a larger cause. 

Medical teams conducted the drive under expert supervision, with arrangements in place to ensure hygiene, safety, and donor comfort. Several first-time donors stepped forward, while regular contributors continued their support. 

Poonam Nanda, Director Sustainability, said each unit of donated blood can support patients in critical need and such initiatives remain important for building a responsible society.

NCC Unit Marks 10 Years of Discipline and Service

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit at Shoolini University marked 10 years on campus with a formal celebration that reflected its journey of discipline, leadership, and service. 

Col. Rajeev Thomas attended as Chief Guest, accompanied by his wife Amandeep Kaur. Associate Dean Students Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Sub Sukhdev, Rakesh Guleria, Virender Singh, Lt. Jyoti Kashyap, and Ankush Thakur were present. 

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by Lt. Jyoti Kashyap outlining the unit’s growth over the past decade and its role in shaping responsible youth. 

A cake-cutting ceremony led by Col. Rajeev Thomas, along with the dignitaries and Under Officers Abdul Lateef and Ashutosh Rana, marked the milestone.

 Cadets presented cultural performances, adding energy to the event. 

Addressing the gathering, Col. Rajeev Thomas spoke about the importance of discipline, dedication, and service, and encouraged cadets to carry these values forward. 

The celebration concluded with a dinner attended by cadets, faculty, and guests.

World Health Day camp

Health Camp Spotlights Preventive Care on World Health Day

Shoolini University organised a health camp on April 7 to mark World Health Day, offering free medical consultations and check-ups to students, faculty, and staff. 

The university held the camp in collaboration with Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU), focusing on preventive healthcare and aligning the initiative with the national vision of Viksit Bharat. A team of doctors provided consultations in general medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and dermatology. 

The camp saw strong participation from the university community, with attendees availing services such as eye screenings, bone health assessments, and skin consultations. Doctors also highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, timely intervention, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  

Director Sustainability and Community Projects Poonam Nanda said such initiatives contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring good health and well-being. She added that the camp not only provided immediate healthcare support but also encouraged individuals to pay closer attention to their overall health.

Students lead door-to-door legal awareness drive in Solan

Students from the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University conducted a door-to-door legal awareness campaign in Sultanpur Panchayat, Solan, focusing on women’s legal rights and access to support systems. 

Organised by the Legal Aid Clinic of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, the initiative followed directions issued by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Solan. The campaign was coordinated by Assistant Professor Vineet Kumar from the Faculty of Legal Sciences in collaboration with representatives of Sultanpur Panchayat. 

A team of 25 students visited households and interacted directly with women, sharing information on their legal rights and protections. The outreach covered key issues such as domestic violence, legal remedies available to victims, victim compensation schemes, and access to free legal aid through Legal Services Authorities. 

Students also informed residents about the NALSA helpline number (15100) and encouraged women to seek legal support when needed. 

The campaign received support from Ward Member of Sultanpur Panchayat Sheela Devi, who facilitated engagement with the local community. 

Prof Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean, Faculty of Legal Sciences, appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to take part in outreach efforts that promote legal awareness.

Women’s Day Health Camp Draws Strong Participation

Shoolini University’s Pharmaverse Club organised a Free Health Check-up Camp for women faculty and staff members at the University Health Centre to mark International Women’s Day. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about women’s health and encourage preventive care within the university community. 

The camp received a strong response, with 124 women participating and undergoing health check-ups and medical consultations. Services included general medicine consultations, gynaecology consultations, nursing care, and laboratory tests, providing participants with a comprehensive medical assessment and guidance. 

From the Medicine Department, Dr Kapil and Dr Gurbaaz conducted general health examinations and offered medical advice. Gynaecology specialists Dr Manisha Behal and Dr Priyanka provided consultations focused on women’s health concerns and preventive care. The event was coordinated by Dr Anuj and Pharmaverse Club President Yash Soni. 

The organisers thanked Associate Dean Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra for his encouragement and support in organising the camp. They also expressed gratitude to Chief Learning Officer Dr Ashoo Khosla for her guidance throughout the programme.

Shoolini–Infinite Partnership for Internships and Placements

Shoolini University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infinite Computer Solutions (India) Limited to strengthen campus recruitment, provide students with industry exposure, and promote long-term academia–industry collaboration. 

During the MoU ceremony, Shoolini University was represented by President AI and Innovation Shoolini University,  Prof Ashish Khosla, while Infinite Computer Solutions (India) Limited was represented by Head of Campus Relations, Dr Sundaresvaran Balakrishnan.  

The partnership aimed to create a structured engagement for campus recruitment while equipping students with industry-relevant skills and professional exposure. Under the agreement, Infinite Computer Solutions will identify and offer internships to selected university students and provide placement opportunities to eligible candidates. 

The collaboration will also focus on providing students with opportunities to work on live industry projects and real-time corporate assignments under the mentorship of Infinite professionals. Such initiatives will help students gain practical exposure and may also lead to job offers based on their performance. 

As part of the MoU, Infinite will organise skill development workshops, training programmes and mentoring sessions for students to strengthen their technical and soft skills. The company will also conduct Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) to train university faculty members on emerging technologies, industry practices and current market trends. 

Students will also benefit from internship opportunities, industry interactions and career guidance programmes designed to enhance employability and prepare them for professional careers. 

On the occasion, Prof Ashish Khosla said the collaboration with Infinite Computer Solutions marked an important step towards strengthening industry-academia partnerships at Shoolini University. He further stated that the MoU would open new avenues for students through internships, live industry projects, skill development programmes and employment opportunities.

Shoolini Law Students Honoured at YUKTI 2026 Convocation

Sixteen students from the School of Law, Shoolini University, completed YUKTI 2026 (Youth Unchained Through Knowledge and Transformative Internships), a prestigious month-long national experiential learning programme organised by the General Counsels’ Association of India (GCAI). The convocation ceremony was held at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, where participants were awarded certificates and medals. 

A total of 120 law students from 15 universities across the country were conferred certificates and medals at the ceremony, marking the successful conclusion of the flagship programme conducted from January 5 to January 31, 2026. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world legal practice through structured experiential exposure and professional mentorship. 

During the programme, students went on academic and institutional visits to the Supreme Court of India and the Indian Parliament, gaining first-hand exposure to judicial and legislative processes. The participants also visited the National War Memorial, reinforcing values of service, responsibility, and national commitment. 

Associate Professor Renu Pal Sood from the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University, who accompanied the students throughout the programme, said YUKTI 2026 was a transformative learning experience. “The programme offered our students national-level exposure to the practical functioning of law in corporate, regulatory, and governance settings. The structured mentorship, industry interactions, and institutional visits boosted their professional confidence and practical understanding, making them truly future-ready,” she stated.

Interactive Workshop Introduces Students to Generative AI

The Yogananda School of AI, Computers and Data Science, in collaboration with ByteXL, organised a hands-on workshop titled ‘Build, Create and Automate: A Practical Workshop on Generative AI.’

The session was conducted by Dr. Shamneesh Sharma, who delivered an insightful and engaging talk on the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI and automation. During the workshop, he introduced students to several advanced AI tools, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Notebook LM, Zapier, and n8n.

Through live demonstrations and guided practical exercises, participants learned how to transform ideas into intelligent solutions, convert prompts into productivity tools, and turn concepts into automated workflows. The workshop provided students with hands-on exposure to prompt engineering, AI-driven research, content creation, and workflow automation.

The session saw enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines, making it highly interactive. The workshop also explored real-world applications of Generative AI in fields such as business, media, research, and data management.

Prof Pankaj Vaidya, from the Yogananda School of AI, Computers and Data Science, said that such industry-oriented initiatives help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional requirements. He added that the program offered valuable exposure to emerging technologies and encouraged students to explore career opportunities in the rapidly growing field of Artificial Intelligence.

Winter Camp Promotes Creativity Among Staff Children

Shoolini University organised a Winter Camp for the children of its employees, offering a structured space for learning, creativity, and play during the winter break. The camp was held from January 5 to 16 under the leadership of Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement. 

Now in its third consecutive year, the Winter Camp focused on the all-round development of children by combining learning activities with creative expression and physical movement. This edition placed a strong focus on sustainability and creativity, introducing children to hands-on activities that encouraged curiosity and environmental awareness. 

Participants took part in yoga sessions, dance and music classes, acting and short plays, indoor and outdoor games, and art and craft activities using waste materials. The mix of activities helped children build confidence, teamwork, physical fitness, and an understanding of sustainable practices. 

On the concluding day, the children presented their handmade creations at an exhibition organised for parents and university staff. The display reflected the skills, imagination, and learning outcomes developed during the camp. 

Shoolini University Chief Learning Officer Dr Ashoo Khosla attended the closing programme as the chief guest. She encouraged students to take part in co-curricular activities alongside academics, stressing the value of balanced growth at an early age.

Mathematics Day Events on Campus Inspire Students

Shoolini University celebrated National Mathematics Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose contributions continue to inspire generations of learners.

The event was organised to nurture students' interest in mathematics as a creative, logical, and problem-solving discipline across various academic programmes. As part of the celebrations, an educational session titled ‘Playing with Numbers through Vedic Mathematics’ was conducted, focusing on fast, intuitive, and effective calculation techniques. The programme was anchored by Akash Pathania, Aptitude Trainer at Shoolini University, who ensured seamless coordination and an engaging flow throughout the session.

Associate Professor Pankaj Kumar from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh delivered the keynote lecture. Speaking on the theme ‘Playing with Numbers through Vedic Mathematics’, Associate Professor Kumar explained the 16 Sutras of Vedic Mathematics and demonstrated their practical application in simplifying complex calculations. His lecture offered valuable insights into mental arithmetic and real-world problem-solving, making the session highly interactive and enriching for both students and faculty. The speaker was formally introduced by Associate Dean of Student Welfare, Shoolini University, Prof Neeraj Gandotra, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Professor Sahil Kashyap and Assistant Professor Ravinder Kumar Thakur.

Earlier, a mathematics quiz titled ‘Ganit Uday’ was organised, where more than 60 students participated enthusiastically. The quiz was coordinated by Akash Pathania, Assistant Professor Anandita Garg, Sahil Kashyap, and Kamal Gautam. Cash prizes were awarded to the top performers. Kushagra, B Tech (Artificial Intelligence), secured the first prize, followed by Eklavya in second place and Utkarsh, B Tech (Artificial Intelligence), in third place. Assistant Professor Gitesh Suri provided backend support.

Young Writers Pen Creative Stories at Writing Competition

Yogananda Knowledge Centre (YKC) and the Young Communicators Club (YCC) at Shoolini University organised an engaging on-the-spot story writing competition.

Students wrote stories on inspiring themes, including ‘The Algorithm of Life, The Elevator and the Stairs, The Power Bank of Life, The Lighthouse in the Storm, The Backup Plan’, and ‘The Bookmarked Page’.

Chief Learning Officer Dr Ashoo Khosla and Prof Charanjeet Singh from the School of Media and Communications were judges at the writing competition. Their insights encouraged students to think creatively and express their ideas with clarity and purpose.

The winners were Arnav Sharma (1st), Prince (2nd), and Tanya (3rd). Special mentions were awarded to Bhumika, Suryansh, Ishita, and Nyasa for their commendable entries.

Yogananda Library Director Col TPS Gill (retd) said such activities were integral to the library’s mission of nurturing creativity and literary interest among students.

Shoolini University welcomed a senior delegation from Victoria University (VU), Australia, led by Andrew Francis Hill, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Impact), marking a key moment in strengthening international academic ties. 

The visit, coordinated by the Office of International Affairs (OIA), opened space for focused discussions on research collaboration, faculty engagement, and student mobility. Senior academic leaders from both institutions exchanged detailed presentations, highlighting Shoolini University’s research output, global rankings, and emerging strengths across disciplines. The Victoria University team shared insights into its research priorities and approach to global partnerships. 

Conversations centred on building joint research projects, encouraging faculty collaboration, and creating structured pathways for student exchange and mobility. Both sides discussed how shared research interests could lead to long-term academic collaboration. 

The delegation also toured the AI and Futures Centre, where they interacted with ongoing technology-led initiatives and gained an overview of Shoolini’s work in artificial intelligence, innovation, and future-ready research. 

The visit concluded with a wrap-up session that outlined potential next steps, setting the groundwork for closer collaboration and alignment of academic and research strengths between the two universities.

Empathy Session

Shoolini Brings Meaningful Empathy Session to Campus

An engaging session on Empathy and Mindfulness was organised at Shoolini University in collaboration with the ITOO team, led by ex-IAS, author, and motivational speaker Vivek Atray. The session encouraged students and faculty to slow down, listen with intent, and build stronger emotional awareness in their daily interactions. 

Interactive activities encouraged participants to reflect on how simple actions — such as attentive listening and being present — can create more meaningful connections. These exercises helped everyone relate to one another more sensitively. 

One of the key moments of the day came from Dr Ruchit Uppal, who spoke about empathy as a bridge that strengthens relationships and deepens understanding. His words stayed with the audience long after the session ended. 

The atmosphere grew calmer and more reflective during the address by Prof Saamdu Chetri, Director of the Yogananda School of Spirituality and Happiness. He spoke about mindful living, inner peace, and staying centred through life’s pressures, adding a thoughtful layer to the conversation. 

Social entrepreneur Sony Goel added a heartfelt perspective on compassion and service, encouraging participants to carry kindness into their actions and decisions. 

The session closed with remarks by Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement, who reinforced the need to practise empathy both on campus and in the workplace.

Shoolini Blood Donation Camp

Shoolini Community Comes Together for Blood Donation Drive

Shoolini University saw an overwhelming response to its recent Blood Donation Camp, with more than 130 students, faculty members, staff, and volunteers stepping forward to donate blood. The camp was organised on campus in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla. 

Medical teams from IGMC handled the entire process, ensuring safe and smooth blood collection. Their guidance helped many first-time donors feel comfortable and confident. 

Two awareness stalls added meaning to the day — an Organ Donation Stall that explained how one donor can help several people, and a Datri Stem Cell Donation Stall that shared information about supporting patients fighting blood cancers and other serious conditions. 

Director, Sustainability and Community Projects, Poonam Nanda, appreciated the community effort. “I am incredibly proud of our students for showing such initiative, empathy, and care. Donating blood is one of the purest forms of service, and today’s turnout reflected the values our university stands for. A sincere thank you to every donor, volunteer, and our partners from IGMC for their support,” she said. 

She also thanked IGMC Shimla, the volunteers, coordinators, and the wider university community for making the event meaningful.

Shoolini MBA Students Explore ‘Next Generation Leadership’

MBA students at Shoolini Business School took part in an engaging interaction with Jay Cziraky, Founder of Denesfa No-End-Co., as part of the school’s Societal Impact Initiatives series. 

Cziraky delivered a thought-provoking talk on ‘Next Generation Leadership Journeys’, where he introduced the No-End Philosophy. He explained how everyday business and consumer decisions can be viewed as long-term investments in communities and societal well-being. He also spoke about purpose-driven leadership and the importance of creating generational legacies while shaping businesses that think beyond profit. 

The session was curated by Prof Munish Sahrawat, Dean and President, Shoolini Business School, with support from Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand. Assistant Professor Abhilasha Chauhan coordinated the event and facilitated student interaction.

Shoolini Celebrates 78th Raising Day of NCC with Pride

Shoolini University marked the 78th Raising Day of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) on 23 November with a vibrant celebration on the campus. 

Officiating SM Subedar Rajeev Kumar and Havildar Mohd Tanveer Malik from the 1 HP Battalion NCC Solan attended as chief guests. They were joined by Associate Dean Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Assistant Director of Operations Virender Singh, and ANO Lt Jyoti Kashyap from Shoolini University. 

The programme featured energetic presentations and performances by NCC cadets, highlighting their discipline, creativity, and team spirit. Cadet leaders SUO Aditya Singh and UO Abdul Lateef shared motivational reflections on their NCC journey and offered guidance for junior cadets. 

A key moment of the event was Subedar Rajeev Kumar’s address, where he shared this message: “Manzil unhi ko milti hai jinke sapnon mein jaan hoti hai, pankhon se kuch nahi hota, hauslon se udaan hoti hai.” 

Passed-out seniors also joined the celebration, reconnecting with the cadets and sharing moments that shaped their own NCC experience. The day wrapped up with cultural performances, fun games, a cake-cutting ceremony, and a screening of the film 120 Bahadur. 

Prof Neeraj Gandotra delivered the vote of thanks, after which ANO Lt Jyoti encouraged students to uphold NCC values and aim for commissioned ranks in the Indian Armed Forces.

Ek Lamhaa Zindagi brings timeless love to Shoolini

Acclaimed theatre artist Juhi Babbar Soni brought to life a moving and unforgettable love story in her latest theatrical presentation, ‘Ek Lamhaa Zindagi – A Love Story (1938–1979)’, staged at Shoolini University.  

The play, which has also premiered to audiences across India, captivated viewers with its blend of emotion, poetry, patriotism, and human connection, tracing the journey of two extraordinary people — Sajjad and Razia, the maternal grandparents of Juhi Babbar Soni. 

Penned by Nadira Zaheer Babbar, Noor Zaheer, and Juhi Babbar Soni, the play was directed by Makaranda Deshpande and Juhi Babbar Soni, with thoughts beautifully compiled and performed by Juhi herself. Through evocative storytelling and heartfelt performances, the production portrayed a timeless love story between a man deeply devoted to his nation and a woman who loved him for that very passion. 

‘Ek Lamhaa Zindagi’ stood as a tribute not only to Juhi Babbar Soni’s grandparents but also to the enduring spirit of love that transcends generations. The performance reaffirmed the strength of human emotion and the profound connection between art, memory, and legacy. 

At Shoolini University, the play was organised as part of the institution’s commitment to offering a multidisciplinary approach to education. Theatre provides students with a wide range of creative and emotional experiences, nurturing empathy, expression, and cultural understanding. The University’s vibrant theatre culture continues to enrich student life and foster a unique blend of artistic and academic excellence.

Engineering Faculty Wins Cricket Trophy at Shoolini

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology won the Interdepartmental Cricket Tournament 2025 held at Yuvraj Stadium, Shoolini University. 

The week-long tournament brought together eight departmental teams that competed with skill, teamwork, and energy. The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences secured the Runner-up position after a spirited finale. Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla and Prof JM Julka presented the trophies and medals to the winning teams.

Mrs Saroj Khosla Lays Foundation Stone on 85th Birthday

Shoolini University celebrated the 85th birthday of Mrs Saroj Khosla, President of the Foundation for Life Sciences and Business Management (FLSBM) recently. On the occasion, she laid the foundation stone for a new hostel block at Shoolini Village, adding to the university’s expanding residential infrastructure. The development will enhance student living facilities and strengthen the sense of community on campus.

In her address, Mrs Khosla encouraged the faculty and staff to pursue their goals with determination and integrity. Known for her disciplined work ethic and compassion, she continues to contribute actively to education and institutional growth through her leadership of the Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB).

Session on AI in Media Highlights Ethics & Press Freedom

The School of Media and Communications, Shoolini University, organised a session with the India Representative of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Kunal Majumder.

He delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking session for media students, focusing on press freedom, ethics, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on journalism.

Majumder gave students a realistic picture of today’s media world, where journalists must show courage, honesty, and adaptability while working under political and digital pressure. He spoke about the importance of truth and verification, reminding students that journalism today requires not only strong storytelling skills but also resilience and responsibility.

He explained the vital work of CPJ, which supports journalists worldwide by offering legal help, emergency aid, and advocacy for those facing threats. Majumder highlighted that modern reporters face new dangers such as misinformation, online harassment, and organised trolling, making it essential to protect credibility and uphold ethical standards.

The discussion also covered the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in media. Majumder said that AI has become an important part of newsroom operations, helping in fact-checking, data analysis, and audience engagement. However, he cautioned that human judgment and ethics must always guide the use of technology.

In his closing remarks, Majumder urged students to remain curious, adaptable, and value-driven, stressing that the journalists who combine technology with ethics will shape the future of responsible media. The interactive session left students inspired and confident about their role in strengthening democracy through truthful and fearless reporting.

EBSCO Orientation Programme

EBSCO Orientation Programme Held at Shoolini

Over 850 students from different programmes participated in the two-day EBSCO Orientation Programme organised by the Yogananda Knowledge Centre (YKC) at Shoolini University. 

The sessions, led by Ritesh from EBSCO under the guidance of the Director of Yogananda Library and the YKC team, aimed to familiarise students with the EBSCO Database — a leading global platform for academic and research resources. 

The EBSCO Orientation Programme included live demonstrations, hands-on training, and interactive quiz competitions. Winners received prizes, adding an element of excitement and motivation to the learning experience. 

Students described the sessions as highly engaging and useful in helping them access and utilise digital library resources more effectively for research and academics. 

The event was coordinated by the YKC team, whose efforts were appreciated for promoting digital literacy and strengthening Shoolini University’s research-driven learning environment.

Students Showcase Creativity in ‘Monsoon Letters’ Writing Contest

The Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts at Shoolini University organised a captivating short-story writing competition on the theme ‘Monsoon Letters’, celebrating the beauty of rain and the imaginative spirit of students. 

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across disciplines, who expressed their emotions and reflections through monsoon-inspired stories filled with vivid imagery and heartfelt narratives. 

Chancellor Prof PK Khosla presented certificates to the winners and gifted them his personally authored and signed book, ‘Trysts with Karma’. 

Prof Purnima Bali, Head of the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, highlighted the value of such literary initiatives, saying, “Competitions like these help students express their thoughts in artistic ways and enhance their imaginative and creative abilities.” 

The winners included Palak Raghuwanshi (Undergraduate – Liberal Arts) for ‘Monsoon Letters’, Deepanjali Mishra (Undergraduate – Psychology) for ‘The Last Postcard’, and Vijaya Laxmi (Undergraduate – Biotechnology) for ‘When the Rains Returned’. 

The entries were judged by Dr Hemant Kumar Sharma and Jagriti Sharma, who appreciated the participants for their originality, depth of thought, and literary flair.

Shoolini KMU Taiwan MoA

Shoolini, KMU Taiwan Ink MoA for Research & Academic Exchange

Shoolini University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Taiwan, to deepen international collaboration in research and academics. Established in 1954, KMU is known for its wide range of medical courses and advanced facilities for both basic and clinical research. 

The agreement focuses on joint work in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Agriculture. The MoA was signed during the visit of Shoolini leaders to KMU, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla and Dr RP Dwivedi, Director of International Relations. Prof Gaurav Gupta, who teaches AI, was also part of the delegation. 

Representing Shoolini, Prof Deepak Kumar from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Coordinator of iHUB Shoolini, and Chief Coordinator of the E-YUVA Centre, delivered an invited lecture. He highlighted Shoolini’s pioneering research on Himalayan plants and introduced initiatives like iHUB Shoolini and iHUB DivyaSampark, which are driving innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Prof Kumar thanked Chancellor Prof PK Khosla for his guidance and said the partnership reflected the vision of Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla. “This MoA will open new doors for research, innovation, and academic exchange, strengthening our global presence and advancing pharmaceutical sciences,” he noted. 

Congratulating the team, Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand and President (Innovation) Prof Ashish Khosla called the agreement a milestone in Shoolini’s global academic journey.

Student court experience

Law Students Gain Firsthand Courtroom Experience

Law students of Shoolini University’s Faculty of Legal Sciences witnessed justice in action during an educational visit to the Lok Adalat at the District Court, Solan. Organised under the Legal Aid Clinic, the visit offered BALLB and LLB students practical exposure to India’s alternative dispute resolution (ADR) system. 

Students interacted with Judicial Officers, including Dr Arvind Malhotra (District & Sessions Judge), Abhay Mandyal (District & Sessions Judge-I), Vivek Khanal (Additional District & Sessions Judge-II), Divya Jyoti Patiyal (CJM), Sonal Sharma (Additional CJM Court-I), and Mihul Sharma (Additional CJM Court-II). The judges guided them on the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, the working of Lok Adalats, and ADR methods such as mediation, conciliation, and arbitration. They also explained key provisions on cheque dishonour cases, compensation rules, appeal processes, and Supreme Court directions on court fees. 

Associate Dean Dr Nandan Sharma from the Faculty of Legal Sciences said such visits helped shape socially responsible and empathetic legal professionals. The visit was coordinated by Assistant Professor Vineet Kumar, who praised the discipline and enthusiasm of the students. Special recognition was given to Pallvi (LLB, 3rd Semester) and Rijul (BALLB, 5th Semester) for assisting in coordination. 

The exposure provided students with a valuable link between classroom learning and real-world courtroom practices.

Kāvya Club & Lit-Witz Club Celebrate Hindi Diwas with Enthusiasm

Shoolini University celebrated Hindi Diwas with zeal and cultural spirit through a Hindi Festival organised jointly by the Kāvya Club and Lit-Witz Club at the University Cineplex. 

Hindi Diwas, celebrated every year on September 14, commemorates the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India by the Constituent Assembly in 1949. The event at Shoolini saw the active participation of 22 students, including 17 in the poetry recitation competition and five in the speech contest. Dr Prakash Chand and PhD scholar Rasvika Tripathi judged the programme, while the Head of the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, Dr Purnima Bali, joined as a special guest. 

The speech contest featured powerful presentations on themes such as ‘Samanata hi sacchi azaadi hai, Agar kitaben bol sakti, Ek ped, sau ummeedein, Rashtriya Shiksha Neeti’, and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. Students shared insightful perspectives, particularly on the National Education Policy and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The poetry recitation added a creative and emotional layer with original verses. 

Judges commended the participants for their confidence, depth of thought, and effective delivery. In the speech competition, Jahanvi, Aditi, and Sanya Sehgal emerged as winners. In the poetry recitation, Rafia Aman, Hari Narayan, and Palak Jain secured the top positions. 

Organised under the guidance of Associate Dean Students Welfare Dr Neeraj Gandotra, the event turned into a memorable tribute to Hindi and its timeless cultural essence.

Shoolini, YS Parmar Universities Join Hands for Workshop

Shoolini University, in collaboration with Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, organised a two-day workshop on ‘Communication for Professional Success’. Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla was the chief guest while Prof Manish Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture at YS Parmar University, was the guest of honour. 

The workshop brought together a leading private university and a premier government institution to equip students with communication and leadership skills for success beyond the classroom. Students and faculty participated in sessions on authentic communication, body language, storytelling, active listening, and self-reflection. 

Prof PK Khosla said, “The two universities are aligned in their vision for student success. Together, we must build resources and skills that empower young learners to thrive as professionals as well as compassionate human beings.” 

The programme was held under the framework of Shoolini’s flagship SPRINT (Skill Progression through Rapid Intensive and Innovative Training) initiative, conceived by Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla. Compulsory for every Shoolini student, it is based on Stanford University’s ‘mini-MBA’. SPRINT has become a distinctive movement at Shoolini, enhancing real-world readiness, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. More than 300 SPRINTs have already been conducted across departments.

Shoolini Provides Relief Kits to Flood-Hit Mandi and Kullu

Shoolini University dispatched nearly 3,500 kilograms of relief material to the flood-affected districts of Mandi and Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. The supplies, which included food, clothing, and essential household items, were delivered and distributed on the ground by local volunteers.

The initiative was made possible through contributions from Shoolini’s faculty and staff, who pledged one per cent of their salaries. The University matched this contribution, enabling the preparation of 300 relief kits. Each kit was designed to meet immediate needs and included household starter packs with tarpaulins, utensils, and blankets; dry rations such as rice, atta, dal, spices, oil, tea, and sugar; and special women’s kits containing salwar suits, innerwear, and personal essentials.

The distribution effort is being led by young volunteer Nikhil Saini and his team, who are ensuring that the kits reach families in urgent need.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Ashoo Khosla, Trustee and Chief Learning Officer of Shoolini University, said, “While these supplies could not undo the pain of lost homes and livelihoods, they carried a message of solidarity and compassion. This is our way of telling the people of Himachal that we stand with them in this difficult hour.”

National Space Day

National Space Day Encourages Students to Aim Higher

Shoolini University marked National Space Day at the School of Physics and Materials Science in collaboration with Astronomy Minor students. The event reflected India’s progress in space exploration and encouraged students to think beyond the visible horizons. 

The programme opened with Assistant Professor Pawan Kumar’s address on the relevance of space science in today’s world. This was followed by MSc Physics student Uday Singh, who spoke on ‘Why We Study Space Technology’, linking space research with the future of humanity. 

Kevin, a BSc Astronomy student, presented an overview of India’s Chandrayaan missions, outlining the scientific breakthroughs that have strengthened the country’s position in space technology. The session concluded with reflective remarks from MSc Physics student Ashish Thakur, who urged peers to stay curious and pursue their passion for space science. 

The event drew active participation from both students and faculty. It not only celebrated India’s journey in space research but also motivated young minds at Shoolini to dream big and aim higher.

Shoolini University Celebrates 79th Independence Day

Shoolini University observed the 79th Independence Day on campus with a flag-hoisting ceremony and cultural events. 

The National Flag was hoisted by Pro Vice-Chancellor Vishal Anand in the presence of faculty, staff, and students, followed by the National Anthem. In his address, Vishal Anand reflected on the importance of the day and paid homage to freedom fighters. He urged students and staff to contribute to the nation’s progress with integrity, innovation, and social responsibility. 

Students presented a cultural programme featuring yoga demonstrations, patriotic songs, theatre, and dance performances. The activities highlighted India’s cultural traditions as well as the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the role of the armed forces. 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare, who encouraged everyone to uphold the values of unity and resilience.

Anti-Ragging Week: Students Take a Pledge

Shoolini University marked Anti-Ragging Week with an awareness session and oath-taking ceremony, reaffirming its focus on a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus. 

The event aimed to educate students on the harmful effects of ragging, its legal consequences, and the role of empathy and equality in building a positive campus culture. Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare, called ragging a violation of institutional values and a punishable offence under law. He urged students to form healthy relationships between seniors and juniors while outlining the university’s policies, preventive measures, and strict penalties for offenders. 

Interactive discussions encouraged students to share their ideas on peer support, mutual respect, and zero tolerance towards harassment. The session ended with students taking a formal Anti-Ragging Oath, pledging neither to engage in nor tolerate ragging and to help any fellow student in distress. 

Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said, “At Shoolini, we believe learning can only thrive in an environment of trust, respect, and dignity. This pledge is a promise from every student to protect these values and make our campus a true home for all.”

Shoolini Tricity Office Hosts Bhandara To Celebrate Milestones

To celebrate a year of milestones, Shoolini University’s Tricity Office in Panchkula organised a Bhandara on August 7 (Thursday) at the Entry Gate. The event brought together university employees, guests, and local residents.  

Over 400 people shared the langar, prepared and served by Shoolini employees themselves. The warm and inclusive event reflected the university’s spirit of unity, humility, and shared purpose. 

“The past year has been significant for Shoolini University — from new global collaborations and top rankings to student achievements and research breakthroughs. Kunzum MoU

Shoolini, Kunzum Launch Reading Culture Minor

Shoolini University has joined hands with Kunzum, a prominent chain of community-driven bookstores in Delhi-NCR, to introduce a new Minor in Reading Culture and Literary Studies — a one-of-its-kind programme that blends literature, critical thinking, and community engagement. 

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Dr Ashoo Khosla, Chief Learning Officer at Shoolini University, and Ajay Jain, Founder of Kunzum. 

This 12-credit Minor will be delivered across four courses. Students will read 36 handpicked books, engage in interactive sessions with authors, and participate in community-based reading activities. Upon completion, they will receive a joint certification from Shoolini University and Kunzum. Additionally, they will earn a Level 3 “Bachelor’s in Reading” credential, awarded by Kunzum. 

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to nurturing thoughtful, expressive, and critically aware individuals,” said Dr Ashoo Khosla. “Kunzum’s community-first approach, combined with our academic vision, is creating something truly impactful.” 

Ajay Jain called the partnership a way to go beyond the traditional idea of a bookstore. “Kunzum is more than a bookstore — it’s a platform that connects people and ideas. Through this partnership, we want to make reading a transformative experience for students, beyond just academics.” 

Beyond the minor, the two institutions plan to co-host events like the Shoolini Literature Festival, author interactions, literary panels, and creative writing workshops — all designed to strengthen the literary culture on campus. 

Kunzum, with its multiple locations across Delhi-NCR, is known for its curated collections and vibrant reading spaces. It regularly hosts author events, themed book clubs — including those for CEOs and LGBTQ+ communities — and is redefining the way people engage with literature.

Rural Entrepreneurs Visit Shoolini Under PRAGATI

In a meaningful step towards empowering rural women, Shoolini University hosted an inspiring campus visit under its Rural Women Entrepreneurs Development Program (PRAGATI). The event welcomed a group of women entrepreneurs, or sakhis, from Sanhol and Salogra panchayats, offering them a closer look at innovation-driven rural enterprise. 

Organised under the leadership of Payal Jindal Khanna, Deputy Director and Head of the Centre for Leadership Coaching, the visit saw enthusiastic participation from the sakhis along with their respective panchayat heads, Kusum and Sanjay. 

The day began with a special lunch interaction, where the visitors were welcomed by senior dignitaries of the university — Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand, and President (Innovation and Marketing) Prof Ashish Khosla. The conversation centred on expanding the impact of PRAGATI by encouraging trained sakhis to mentor aspiring women entrepreneurs in nearby villages. 

The group was then taken on a guided tour of the university’s organic farm and advanced Food Technology Lab. Here, they explored modern food processing techniques and industrial equipment that could help scale up their home-grown ventures. Prof Somesh Sharma (Dean, School of Agriculture) and Prof Dinesh Kumar (Dean, School of Bioengineering and Food Technology) interacted with the visitors, sharing insights on sustainable practices and practical ways to grow their businesses. 

A highlight of the visit was an engaging session with Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, who praised the resilience and drive of the women. In a heartfelt gesture, he pledged personal financial support to the sakhis, reinforcing Shoolini University’s commitment to community-led development and inclusive growth. 

The visit was a part of the university’s larger outreach effort to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and create pathways for rural women to lead with confidence and skill.

Poonam Nanda C-Positive Award

Poonam Nanda Wins C-Positive Award for Cancer Awareness

Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement at Shoolini University, has been honoured with the C-Positive Award by the Rising India Foundation and the Texas School of Mental Health. 

A three-time cancer survivor, Nanda was recognised for her strength, resilience, and continuous efforts to raise awareness about early detection and mental well-being during cancer treatment. 

The C-Positive Awards aim to shift the perception of cancer by redefining the letter ‘C’ to stand for Compassion, Comfort, Care, Courage, and Confidence. The awards honour individuals who have either faced cancer themselves or contributed significantly to awareness and support systems. 

Nanda’s story and presence at the event stood out. Her work has impacted many, especially women who often delay seeking medical help. Her message of timely diagnosis and mental strength continues to inspire survivors and caregivers alike. 

The C-Positive award ceremony brought together survivors, doctors, caregivers, and changemakers from across the country.

Shoolini Hosts Three-Day Interdepartmental Sports League

Shoolini University recently hosted a three-day Interdepartmental Sports League Tournament featuring Basketball, Football, and Volleyball matches. Organised under the guidance of Associate Dean Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra and Assistant Professor Vikrant Chauhan, Physical Education, the event saw enthusiastic participation and high-octane performances from students across disciplines. 

A total of 20 teams competed in the tournament — eight in Basketball, six in Volleyball, and six in Football. The matches were marked by spirited gameplay, teamwork, and discipline, reflecting the university’s strong sports culture. 

In the Basketball finals, Team Reedem emerged as the champions, with the Swish Squad and Yulla Kanda Squad taking the second and third positions, respectively. In Volleyball, Team Falcons claimed the top spot, while Spikers Squad finished as runners-up. Anushka Thapa was named Best Scorer, and Sujal Thakur received special recognition for his role as referee. In Football, Team Blue Lock lifted the winner’s trophy, with Team Ganpati finishing second. Dax and Ken were declared top scorers for their stellar performance throughout the tournament. 

Prof Gandotra said the Interdepartmental Sports League tournament offered students a valuable platform to showcase their athletic skills and passion for sports.

NEP 2020 Awareness Kavya Club

Kavya Club Sparks NEP 2020 Awareness

To spread awareness about the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Kavya Club of Shoolini University organised two impactful activities. These included an Essay-Writing Competition and an Awareness Help Desk — to promote student understanding of the policy’s key reforms and vision.

Held under the guidance of the DSW Office, with support from Associate Dean Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra and coordination by Vipul Tomar, both events reflected Shoolini’s student-centric approach to intellectual engagement and policy awareness. 

The Essay Writing Competition drew participation from 42 students across disciplines. Focused on themes such as the core features of NEP 2020, multilingualism, student futures, and comparisons with the previous education policy, the contest encouraged critical thinking and expression. 

The winners were declared after a two-stage evaluation process: 
  • 1st Prize: Palak Raghuwanshi (BA English Hons, 3rd Year) – ₹500 Amazon voucher + certificate
  • 2nd Prize: Vijaya Lakshmi (B Tech Biotech, 2nd Year) – ₹300 Amazon voucher + certificate 


To complement this academic exercise, the Kavya Club also set up an Awareness Help Desk on campus. Run by student volunteers, the desk featured posters, brochures, and interactive sessions to explain key NEP reforms such as multidisciplinary learning, multiple entry-exit options, flexible subject combinations, and promotion of regional languages and vocational training. 

Both initiatives created a meaningful platform for students to engage with the nation’s evolving educational landscape, reinforcing Shoolini University’s focus on informed, future-ready learning.

Shoolini, RHUL Ink MoA for 1+1 Master’s Program

In a major step towards strengthening international academic ties, Shoolini University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL), for a 1+1 Master’s progression program in Business Management. 

The agreement was signed between Prof Tracy Bhamra, Provost and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global) at RHUL, UK, and Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla. The MoA was formally presented by Stephen Thomas, Head of Global Partnerships and Business Development at RHUL, during his campus visit to Shoolini University. 

The visit and the agreement were coordinated by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Shoolini University. 

During his day-long visit, Stephen Thomas engaged in detailed discussions with senior university officials and toured key research and innovation facilities. These included the Ecological Park, Vardhman Industry-Academia Lab, Nanotechnology Lab, PURSE Lab, and the IPR Cell — reflecting Shoolini’s focus on cutting-edge research and global academic integration. 

A key highlight of the visit was the signing of the MoA at the School of Business Management. Under the 1+1 Master’s program, Shoolini students will complete the first year in India, followed by the second year at Royal Holloway in the UK. The program offers students international exposure and the opportunity to earn a globally recognised degree from one of UK’s leading universities. 

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs Rozy Dhanta said, “We are committed to providing our students with global learning opportunities. This program will empower our Management students to gain valuable international experience and academic excellence.” 

The visit concluded with interactions with the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, followed by a formal vote of thanks.

Intra Moot Court Competition Held at Shoolini University

The Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University organised the 2nd Intra Moot Court Competition on campus, offering law students a platform to sharpen their legal reasoning and courtroom skills. 

Twelve teams participated in the preliminary rounds, with four advancing to the semi-finals and two reaching the Grand Finale. After a competitive series of arguments, Team IMCC 8001, led by Ananya from the 8th Semester, was declared the Winner. Team IMCC 4002, comprising Amit and his teammates from LLB and BALLB 2nd Year, secured the Runner-Up position. 

The Grand Finale was judged by Senior Advocate RS Gautam (Himachal Pradesh High Court, Shimla), Associate Prof Renu Pal Sood, and Prof of Practice Advocate Rajiv Chauhan. Their expert insights made the final round a valuable learning experience for all participants. 

Assistant Professor and event Convenor Vineet Kumar addressed the students and underlined the importance of understanding the law—both in theory and in practice. He spoke about the difference between expository law and censorial jurisprudence, encouraging students to balance academic knowledge with hands-on experience. 

Assistant Professor and Co-convenor Monika Thakur delivered the vote of thanks and noted that the competition helped students build core legal skills such as drafting, analysis, teamwork, and public speaking.

Shoolinians Launch Astroverse Club with Telescope Inauguration

Shoolini University inaugurated its new student-led space club, Astroverse, with the unveiling of a telescope aimed at promoting stargazing, astrophotography, and space research on campus. 

Led by students Taranveer Kaur, Arghya Pratim Ghosh, and Kartikey Agarwal, the Astroverse Club began its first event with a telescope demonstration and skywatching session. Kartikey guided attendees through their first glimpse of the night sky. 

The launch was supported by Chief Learning Officer Dr Ashoo Khosla and Dean Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra, along with team members Vipul and Pooja Verma. Prof Gandotra and Director, Yogananda School of Spirituality and Happiness, Prof Saamdu Chetri, also distributed certificates to students who participated in a NASA-Supernova asteroid research workshop. 

Upcoming events announced include a stargazing night and an astrophotography competition.

Law students from Shoolini University’s LLB and BALLB programs recently visited the Supreme Court of India, gaining firsthand exposure to live courtroom proceedings and legal practices at the highest level. 

During the visit, students observed real-time legal arguments. They interacted with leading legal experts, deepening their understanding of courtroom dynamics and judicial processes. A special session with the President and members of the Delhi Bar Association added further value, with the Association recognising the students’ enthusiasm and the faculty’s academic leadership. 

In a notable highlight, the Delhi Bar Association announced internship opportunities for Shoolini law students with reputed legal firms. Faculty members were also felicitated for their contribution to legal education.

IIT Ropar & Shoolini Sign MoU for Advanced Research

Strengthening its commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation, Shoolini University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AWaDH (Technology Innovation Hub), Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar.

The collaboration aims to drive transformative advancements in translational research, technology transfer, and skill development.

The MoU was signed by Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof Prem Kumar Khosla and Pushpendra P Singh, Dean Research and Development, Project Director IIT Ropar (iHub - AWaDH). Under this agreement, both institutions have committed to launching a Cyber-Physical System Laboratory (CPS Lab), a hub for pioneering research and interdisciplinary technological development. The CPS Lab will facilitate joint initiatives in translational research, technology transfer, and skill enhancement, providing students and researchers with hands-on experience in cutting-edge fields.

Additionally, the MoU paved the way for the introduction of a joint Minor Programme in Artificial Intelligence + X, which will comprise 15 credits. This programme, designed with a 'Learning by Practice' methodology, will be executed through the CPS Lab and offer students joint certification from Shoolini University and IIT Ropar. The 'X' component of the programme represents interdisciplinary integration, allowing students to specialise in various fields, including Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Management.

Speaking on the occasion, senior representatives from both institutions emphasised the significance of this partnership in bridging academia and industry, fostering an ecosystem of innovation, and equipping students with future-ready skills. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance research capabilities, strengthen academic ties, and promote multidisciplinary learning.

Law Students Gain Practical Experience at Lok Adalat

Law students from the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University visited the District Court in Solan to witness Lok Adalat proceedings first-hand. Students from the LLB and BA LLB programs gained insights into the alternative dispute resolution system, learning its role in resolving disputes quickly and amicably.

The students observed real-time resolution of cases ranging from family and property disputes to consumer and labour issues. This practical exposure helped them learn beyond the classroom.

Assistant Professor Vineet Kumar coordinated the visit, while Associate Dean of the School of Law Nandan Sharma played a key role in facilitating the event.

The students had the opportunity to engage with several distinguished judicial figures. District and Sessions Judge Arvind Malhotra, Additional District and Sessions Judge Vivek Khanal, and Judicial Magistrate Mehul Sharma demonstrated the workings of the court, advocating for a practical approach to legal education.

Adding to the experience, students interacted with Justice Trilok Singh Chauhan of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, who discussed the nuances of legal practice and the responsibilities awaiting future legal practitioners. Additionally, Advocate Manoj Verma, former President of the Solan Bar Association, shared insights on courtroom advocacy and the changing legal environment.

In a show of social responsibility, students supported the Red Cross Society, Solan, commemorating International Women’s Day, reinforcing their commitment to community and legal service.

Science and History discussed on Darwin Day at Shoolini

Shoolini University recently hosted a dynamic event celebrating the enduring impact of Charles Darwin's scientific legacy. Associate Professor Lokender Kumar from the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology started the proceedings with an introductory speech. 

The highlight of the event was a documentary curated by Prof JM Julkha, which captivated the audience with insights into Darwin’s education, travels, and revolutionary theories. The film included authentic excerpts from BBC and the British Council, enhancing its educational value. Following the screening, Prof Julkha highlighted the importance of Darwin's theory of natural selection, remarking, “Nothing in biology makes sense without natural selection”.  

Adding to the scholarly atmosphere, Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof Prem Kumar Khosla shared anecdotes about Darwin's life and the little-known supportive role of his wife amidst widespread scepticism. He drew intriguing parallels between Darwin and his contemporary, Alfred Russel Wallace, discussing their competition to publish theories on evolution. Further, Prof Khosla delved into Indian mythology, suggesting that ancient texts anticipated evolutionary concepts long before their formal scientific study.

La Trobe University Delegates Visit Campus

In a move to enhance international academic collaborations, Shoolini University recently hosted a high-level delegation from La Trobe University, Australia. The visit marks a significant milestone in the university's efforts to expand its global educational ties. 

Led by Prof Theo Farrell, Vice Chancellor of La Trobe University, the delegation included Stacey Farraway, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Future Growth), and Amit Malhotra, Regional Director – South Asia and Africa. La Trobe, which holds the #217 spot in the QS World Rankings, has been actively promoting academic partnerships in India for global education. 

During their visit, the Australian delegates held productive discussions with both the leadership and faculty members of Shoolini University. Prof Farrell highlighted the importance of such international collaborations, which aim to provide students unparalleled global exposure and learning opportunities. He stressed La Trobe University's commitment to strengthening ties through initiatives like student mobility and joint degree programs. 

The delegation also explored Shoolini University's campus, expressing appreciation for the infrastructure and innovative approach to education.

Shoolini eighth Convocation

All Set for Eighth Convocation on March 22

Shoolini University is gearing up for its Eighth Convocation, set to take place on March 22. In preparation, the university has issued a call to all students who will receive their degrees, urging them to attend a rehearsal on March 21 to ensure a seamless event. 

Known for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, Shoolini University has become a leader in setting academic benchmarks, promoting industry partnerships, and enhancing global research impact.  

The list of graduates will be available on the university's official website. Students must confirm that their names are correctly listed in English and Hindi, as per their 10th-grade marksheets. Any discrepancies should be reported to the Registrar, Prof Sunil Puri, at convocation2025@shooliniuniversity.com by February 22. 

Registration for the event will close on February 28. It is important to remember that registering for the convocation does not automatically confirm participation. Attendance at the rehearsal is mandatory for those wishing to participate in the ceremony.

Republic Day Celebrations Inspire Patriotism

Shoolini University commemorated the 76th Republic Day with fervour, emphasising unity and patriotism among students, faculty, and distinguished guests. 

The event commenced with Trustees Satish Anand and Ashok Anand, alongside President Innovation Prof Ashish Khosla and Director Operations Brig SD Mehta, unfurling the National Flag, marking the start of the day's celebrations. 

The Raag Rang Club at Shoolini University performed a soulful group song filled with patriotic pride, followed by a captivating dance by faculty children that added a familial touch to the celebrations. 

Assistant Prof Anupma Chandel and the university's Yoga Department led a yoga demonstration, illustrating the importance of health and mindfulness rooted in India's ancient practices. The celebration also embraced regional culture with a traditional Natti dance performance, bringing a touch of local tradition to the festivities. 

Addressing the gathering, Prof Ashish Khosla expressed optimism about India's future, noting, "India is poised to overtake China by 2050, offering our youth unparalleled opportunities to excel, innovate, and lead globally." 

In his vote of thanks, Brig Mehta highlighted the importance of celebrating India's sovereignty and the role of every citizen in driving the nation towards becoming a developed country.

Shoolini Hosts Digital Workshop on Tobacco Cessation

Shoolini University recently partnered with the Global Initiative for Public Health and Innovation (GIPHI) to host a pioneering two-day online workshop, dedicated to advancing digital health technology in tobacco cessation. The event attracted over 100 participants from various departments, emphasising the university's commitment to a smoke-free future. 

The workshop featured the introduction of the START App (Stop Tobacco with Assistance and Recover Today), a cutting-edge digital tool designed to combat tobacco addiction. This initiative was organised in collaboration with YouWeCan and received certification from the Edward and Cynthia Institute of Public Health. 

Sumedha Kushwaha, CEO of GIPHI and a PhD Scholar at the University of Toronto, led the sessions. Kushwaha, who also founded the Aim to Terminate Tobacco and Cancer (ATTAC) initiative and the India International Development Alliance, brought her extensive addiction and public health expertise to the training, assisted by her dedicated Team GIPHI. 

The training emphasised evidence-based strategies for tobacco cessation counselling, equipping participants with practical skills to support individuals in their journey to quit tobacco. Students received hands-on training with the START App, enhancing their ability to implement technology-driven interventions effectively. 

Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement, and Assistant Professor Nitika Thakur from Shoolini University supported the event. Student coordinators also played a crucial role in the seamless execution of the workshop. 

Reflecting on the event, Poonam Nanda said, “This training reflects Shoolini University's dedication to empowering our students with the necessary tools and knowledge to tackle significant public health challenges effectively." 
Bioengineering Team

Triple Triumph: Shoolini’s Bioengineering Team Wins Again

The Bioengineering team at Shoolini University has clinched its third consecutive championship title in the annual Inter-Faculty and Staff Cricket Tournament, showcasing its dominance in the sport. Under the leadership of Professor Pankaj Chauhan, the team won in the 2023, 2024, and now 2025 tournaments, reinforcing their dominance in university sports. 

The tournament, organised by the Department of Sports and coordinated by Assistant Professor Vikrant Chauhan, featured intense competition among 17 teams. The final match saw the Bioengineering team demonstrate exceptional skill and strategy to secure their victory, while the Baby Boomers team took a commendable second place. 

Rishabh Shyam earned the title of ‘Man of the Series’ for his remarkable all-round performance, and Rohit Negi was celebrated as the ‘Best Batsman’ for his impressive batting throughout the tournament. 

Reflecting on this historic achievement, Prof Pankaj Chauhan shared his enthusiasm and pride. “Winning three consecutive championships is a dream come true,” he stated. “The dedication, teamwork, and fighting spirit of our players have been outstanding. This victory is a collective effort of every team member.” 
Mathematics Day

Engaging Webinar and Quiz Challenge Mathematics Day

In tribute to the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Yogananda School of AI, Computers and Data Sciences at Shoolini University, together with its mathematics club, Sanchay, recently celebrated National Mathematics Day. The event featured a variety of activities, including a challenging aptitude quiz and a special webinar. 

The day began with a dynamic quiz on the university’s eUniv platform, where 54 students across different departments competed in solving 30 complex mathematical questions within 25 minutes. Mohit Kumar, a first-year B Tech (CSE) student, clinched the top spot, followed by Paarth Sarthi and Richa, who took second and third places, respectively. 

The event's centrepiece was a webinar by Associate Professor Ramesh Kumar Vats from NIT Hamirpur, who shared Ramanujan's life and contributions to mathematics. He also explored the relevance of Vedic mathematics in today's world. 

The day concluded with the presentation of awards by Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla. Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean of Student Welfare, described the celebrations as insightful and engaging.

Bazm-e-Kavya Celebrates Indian Poets at Competition

Bazm-e-Kavya, the literary club of Shoolini University, organised the Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav Poetry Competition at the Cineplex to honour Mahakavi Subramania Bharati and celebrate India’s linguistic and literary heritage. 

The event featured 14 participants, two judges, and 10 faculty members. The programme began with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Aditi Jamdagni while Bazm-e-Kavya president Areeb Aftab welcomed the audience. 

The participants recited poems in multiple languages, with Namita Saini delivering a heartfelt performance that resonated with the audience. Bazm-e-Kavya secretary Asshee Sharma concluded the competition with a moving poem. 

Judges Prof Tej Nath Dhar and Priyanka Thakur evaluated the performances. Faculty members, including Prof Purnima Bali, Asst Prof Ekta Singh, Asst Prof Prakash Chand, Asst Prof Hemant Kumar Sharma, Kamal Gautam, Associate Dean Engineering and Technology Babu Sundaram, and Prof Neeraj Gandotra were present to encourage the participants. 

Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla appreciated Bazm-e-Kavya for promoting literary talent and cultural appreciation. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting linguistic diversity. 

Rafiya Aman (BBA 2nd Year) won first place, while Ujjwal Kumar (B Pharma 2nd Year) secured the runner-up position. Prof Khosla presented trophies to the winners and certificates to all participants.

The delegates included Prof Tristanne Scott-Durairajah, Associate Director of Partnerships and Learning Abroad, and Nitin Sharma, Head of Partnerships and Country Manager, from the University of Tasmania, Australia. 

During their visit, the delegates discussed the issue with Shoolini University's leadership and faculty members. Professor Tristanne Scott-Durairajah shared insights on international collaboration strategies and emphasised the importance of global learning opportunities for students. She also highlighted the University of Tasmania's commitment to promote academic partnerships in India through initiatives such as student exchange programs and dual degree courses. 

Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said the partnership will open new horizons for academic excellence and research innovation. Shoolini University Vice President Avnee Khosla, who is also Director of Student Experience and Success, Admissions and Financial Aid, said the visit will expand global academic collaborations.

Inter-Department Football Tournament Concludes 

Shoolini University recently hosted an Inter-Department Football Tournament, organised by the Dean of Student Welfare and the Department of Sports. The tournament featured eight teams that played 11 matches, demonstrating high energy and competitive spirit. 

Key highlights of the event were the exceptional performances of individual players. Ammar won the Best Goalkeeper award, Dax was recognised as the Top Scorer, and Dipanshu was named the Best Player of the Tournament. 

Assistant Professor Vikrant Chauhan from the Department of Physical Education led the coordination of the tournament. He was supported by an organising committee comprising Nandish, Kavya, Sanjana, Avinash, Prithak, and Firdous. 

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean of Student Welfare, presented trophies to the winners. The trophies were sponsored by Decathlon, Solan.

Free Breast Cancer Screening Camp for Village Women

Shoolini University, in collaboration with the YouWeCan Foundation, organised a two-day free breast cancer screening camp for women from nearby villages. Over 100 women participated in the programme, emphasising the significance of early detection and self-care. 

A dedicated team of doctors and technicians from Delhi conducted the screenings, ensuring professional and thorough evaluations. The programme was led by Dr Tanvi, who held interactive awareness sessions for women in small groups. She highlighted the importance of self-breast examination, demonstrating the process to the attendees and answering their queries with care and patience. 

Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement at Shoolini University, thanked the YouWeCan Foundation for their support in making the camp a success. Speaking on the occasion, Poonam Nanda, a cancer survivor, shared her journey and highlighted the importance of awareness and early detection. “I understand the life-saving value of timely intervention and awareness, and I am committed to spreading this message far and wide,” she said, inspiring many with her words. 

Student volunteers, who previously led the impactful Pink October awareness drive, played a pivotal role in the camp's success. They contacted local women, encouraging them to take advantage of the free screening and support provided by this initiative.

A major development from this visit was the announcement of the innovative 1+1 MBA program. Under this arrangement, students will spend their first academic year at Shoolini University, followed by the second year at RHUL in the UK. This program is designed to offer students a world-class educational experience coupled with extensive international exposure.

Shoolini Winter Cricket Premier League 2024 Concludes

Shoolini University hosted the Shoolini Winter Cricket Premier League 2024, an exciting cricket tournament that brought together players and fans across campus. Organised by the Sports Department under the Dean Student Welfare Office, the event promoted fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie among students and faculty. 

Professor Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare, highlighted that the tournament was a platform to promote unity and a healthy competitive spirit. 

After a series of thrilling matches, team Akatsuki, led by captain Mayank, clinched the championship. The runners-up, Baby Boomers, captained by Rohit Negi, showcased exceptional performances throughout the tournament. 

Brig SD Mehta, Director of Operations at Shoolini University, presented the awards at the prize distribution ceremony. He said, “The university remains committed to encouraging sports to build discipline, teamwork, and resilience among students. This tournament reflects our dedication to holistic development." 

Individual achievements were celebrated during the ceremony. Anmol emerged as a star performer, earning awards for Best Batter, Best Bowler, and Player of the Tournament. Aashish Sharma was recognised as Best Fielder for his consistent and exceptional efforts. 

Decathlon Solan supported the event by providing trophies and sports equipment. 

The tournament was organised by Vikrant Chauhan, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, along with Cricket Coach Abhishek, who guided the teams. Shoolini Forges Global Ties With Tashkent Institute

Shoolini University has signed an MoU with the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, one of the world’s oldest government-funded pharmaceutical institutions. It was established in 1937 in the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

The collaboration is an important step towards promoting international research and academic exchange in pharmaceutical sciences. 

The MoU was signed during the International Conference on Pharmaceutics and Life Sciences: Frontiers of Research and Education (ICPL-2024), where Prof Deepak Kumar from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Shoolini iHUB Coordinator represented Shoolini University. Prof Kumar delivered a plenary lecture on the first day of the conference and a public lecture at the Pharmaceutical Technical University, Tashkent, on the second day. 

Introducing the innovative initiatives of iHUB Shoolini and iHUB DivyaSampark, Prof Kumar highlighted the groundbreaking research being conducted on Himalayan plants at Shoolini University. He emphasised how this partnership aligned with the visionary goals of Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla.

Keynote and Award for Shoolini at Ayurdhan

Prof Poonam Negi from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University delivered a keynote address at ‘Ayurdhan 2024: International Conference on Harmonizing Ayurveda, Technology, and Innovation for a Healthier Future’. The event, held from October 27 to 29 at Patanjali Research Foundation in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, focused on integrating traditional Ayurvedic practices with modern scientific advancements. 

In her talk, ‘Herbal Innovation: Enhancing Efficacy with Modern Drug Delivery Systems’, Prof Negi discussed how advanced delivery methods can transform herbal medicine. She highlighted the role of these systems in improving the bioavailability, stability, and targeted effectiveness of herbal treatments, using case studies on conditions like skin infections and inflammatory diseases. 

Additionally, Prof Negi’s PhD student Bigul Yogeshver Bhardwaj, received the Best Poster Presentation award for his research on gastric ulcer therapy. His work centred on developing chebulinic acid-loaded solid dispersions using modified xanthan gum-coated gastroretentive beads, offering a promising approach for more effective treatment.

Pact with UK’s Queen Mary University for Dual Degree Programme

Shoolini University has partnered with Queen Mary University of London to offer a dual master’s degree, enabling students from India to earn both Indian and UK qualifications. Through this agreement, students will complete their first year of postgraduate study at Shoolini University, followed by the second year at Queen Mary in the UK. 

The dual degree programme covers business and management, including MSc Accounting and Finance, MSc Digital Marketing, and MSc International Business. Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla highlighted that the partnership would create new opportunities for students. “After receiving quality education at Shoolini, students in this programme will also benefit from the best practices in UK education,” he said. 

Professor Helen Bailey, Vice Principal International at Queen Mary, described the partnership as a unique chance for students to experience a truly international learning environment. “This agreement opens doors to global opportunities,” she noted. Queen Mary University’s School of Business and Management holds the prestigious AACSB accreditation, recognised as a gold standard in business education.

National Pharmacy Week

Shoolini Marks National Pharmacy Week with Outreach Campaign

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University celebrated National Pharmacy Week, focusing on promoting safe medication practices and raising public health awareness. The event highlighted the essential role of pharmacists in healthcare and patient support. 

Programme Coordinator and Assistant Professor Raveen Chauhan, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, delivered a lecture on ‘Patient Counseling and Safe Medication Practices’. Asst Prof Chauhan spoke to pharmacy students about how patient counselling can improve medication adherence and health outcomes. 

As part of the activities held during the week, faculty members and pharmacy students organised a health awareness campaign that reached out to Sultanpur Panchayat and nearby villages. The team met with the Panchayat Pradhan and engaged community members through door-to-door interactions, raising awareness about safe medication use and sharing lifestyle tips for healthier living. 

Prof Deepak Kapoor, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, said National Pharmacy Week recognised the many roles pharmacists played… from patient counselling and drug therapy management to research and advancing pharmaceutical science.

Shoolini & NIT Hamirpur Host Pre-Conference Poster Event

Shoolini University’s Yogananda School of Artificial Intelligence, Computers, and Data Science, in collaboration with NIT Hamirpur’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organised a pre-conference Poster Presentation ahead of the upcoming International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction and Cognitive Computing (HCICC-25), set for January 8, 2025. 

Fifteen teams from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Telangana presented innovative ideas to address societal challenges and promote sustainable solutions. Accompanied by their faculty supervisors, the student teams showcased projects in line with the theme of the conference.  

This pre-conference poster event concluded with awards that recognised exceptional contributions. Chandigarh CSIR-CSIO Project Associate Piyush Thakur won first place. Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU), Solan, faculty member Kajal Banyal, Himachal Pradesh, secured the second position. Shoolini students Kartikey Sharma and Rajdeep Rana jointly achieved the third position for their impressive project. 

The program opened with a welcome address by Prof Pankaj Vaidya, General Chair of HCICC-25 and Head of Computer Applications at Shoolini University. Prof Babu Sundaram, Associate Dean of the School of Engineering at Shoolini University, and Ripin Kohli, Session Chair for the Pre-Poster Presentation and Dean of Research and Consultancy at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar, also shared their thoughts on the conference theme. Prof Sundaram praised the Yogananda School of Artificial Intelligence, Computers, and Data Science for its role in organising both the poster presentation and the international conference, highlighting the importance of student involvement in research. 

The pre-conference poster event closed with a vote of thanks by HCICC-25 Convenor Arvind Sharma, who acknowledged the efforts of all participants, faculty supervisors, and organisers.

Legal Aid Campaign Educates on Rights and Services

The Legal Aid Clinic of the School of Law at Shoolini University recently conducted a legal aid awareness campaign in the villages of Nauni and Ochghat. The initiative aimed to educate the local community about their legal rights, free legal aid services, and practical legal solutions.

Coordinated by Assistant Professor Poonam Pant and Assistant Professor Vineet Kumar, the campaign focused on property rights, women's rights, and senior citizens' rights. Villagers were encouraged to approach legal aid centres in case of disputes or legal issues. The campaign also highlighted government-sponsored legal aid schemes, along with the eligibility criteria and procedures to access these services.

Earlier, over 30 participating students went through specialised training conducted by the Legal Aid Committee. These sessions equipped them with the necessary knowledge and communication skills for effective interaction with the local population. During the campaign, the students distributed pamphlets and brochures in the local language, containing contact details for legal aid centres and helplines.

The campaign also offered practical advice on common legal issues such as domestic violence, inheritance disputes, and pension claims for senior citizens. Asst Prof Poonam Pant said the campaign was a step towards empowering the rural population through legal education and enhancing their access to justice.

World Food Day

Shoolini Hosts Educational & Fun Activities on World Food Day

The School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology at Shoolini University, marked World Food Day with engaging activities. These events aimed to raise awareness about food security, nutrition, and global hunger.

The event started with a quiz competition, where Team A, consisting of students from BSc and MSc Food Technology and Nutrition & Dietetics took first place. Following this, a poster-making competition allowed students to showcase their creativity on themes such as hunger, food waste, and nutrition. Amisha, a second-year BSc Food Technology student won first prize for her striking poster, while Osheen, a third-year BSc Nutrition and Dietetics student secured the runners-up position.

Adding a fun element to the world food day, Muskan and Manogna, first-year MSc Food Technology students, entertained the crowd during the Food Charades activity. Their lively performance had the audience cheering as participants guessed various food items and cooking processes.

The Blindfold Ingredient Identification competition brought out the competitive spirit among participants. Relying on taste, touch, and smell, Shivanshu, a second-year B Tech Food Technology student, emerged as the winner with his keen sensory skills.

The day concluded with Professor Dinesh Kumar, Head of the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, and Prof Pankaj Chauhan distributing prizes, recognising the talents and efforts of all participants. Faculty members Asst Prof Mamta Chandel, Asst Prof Srishti Mathur, and Asst Prof Rajni Saini coordinated the event.

Shoolini Brings Ramleela to Life with Muscular Dystrophy Heroes

Students of Shoolini Creative Studio brought the ancient epic Ramayana to life with a captivating 90-minute Ramleela performance at the Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy (IAMD), also known as Manav Mandir. The event spread joy and inspired children and families affected by muscular dystrophy.

The performance portrayed the timeless tale of the Ramayana, bringing the immortal characters to life. Many brave individuals with muscular dystrophy, some in wheelchairs, joined the stage to perform key scenes from the Ramayana. Their participation added an emotional and inspiring touch to the event, as their courage and passion left a lasting impact on everyone in the audience.

Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement at Shoolini University, who organised the event, shared, "The performances were not only entertaining but also inspiring and delivered a strong message for these remarkable individuals." She added that student volunteers from the university have been visiting Manav Mandir to uplift the children and their families, demonstrating Shoolini's commitment to community engagement.

The trustees of Manav Mandir praised the students for their efforts to spread happiness and positivity among the patients.

British Deputy High Commissioner Inaugurates iHUB Shoolini

British Deputy High Commissioner Caroline Rowett inaugurated the cutting-edge Central Facilities Lab, iHUB Shoolini, at Shoolini University on Tuesday. The event marked a key milestone in the university's journey towards technological excellence.

This state-of-the-art lab is designed to serve as a hub for groundbreaking research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Drone Technology. The facility is supported by iHUB DivyaSampark and the Technology Innovation Hub, an initiative under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NMICPS). The collaboration involves the Department of Science and Technology and IIT Roorkee.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla emphasised Shoolini University’s active role in advanced technology research, highlighting the transformative potential of AI, ML, IoT, and Drone Technology in shaping the future. President and Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer Prof Ashish Khosla Prof Ashish Khosla discussed the versatility of the lab's workstations and their wide-ranging applications across various industries.

Shoolini Signs MoU with Franklin University for 2+2 Programme

Shoolini University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Franklin University, Columbus, to launch a 2+2 programme aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students. The agreement was finalised during the visit of Dr Godfrey Mendes, Senior Vice President for Global Programmes and Strategic Initiatives and Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Franklin University. 

The 2+2 programme will allow students to complete the first two years of their degree at Shoolini University and the final two years at Franklin University, earning a joint degree. This collaboration offers students a unique opportunity to experience both institutions and gain a global perspective. 

During his visit, Mendes met Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, and other Deans and Directors. The discussions highlighted the potential of this initiative to strengthen academic partnerships and provide students with international learning experiences. 

“Through this partnership, we can offer our students global experiences that will give them an edge in today’s interconnected and competitive world,” said Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla.

CELL Launches Lecture Series on English Literature

The newly established Centre of Excellence for Language Learning (CELL), under the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, recently hosted its inaugural lecture, ‘What it Means to be a Student of English Literature’. The session was led by Prof Tej Nath Dhar from Shoolini University.

Assistant Prof Hemant Kumar Sharma introduced the audience to the focus of the three-part lecture series. In the first session, Prof Dhar explored key questions such as ‘What is English literature?’ and its deep connection with language. He highlighted the evolution of literature from its roots in oral poetry to its modern forms, demonstrating its role in education and entertainment throughout history. 

The event concluded with closing remarks from Prof Purnima Bali, Head of the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, who thanked Prof Dhar and encouraged students to join the upcoming sessions.

Shoolini Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti With Green Footprint

To honour Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a cleaner, greener world, Shoolini University held a two-day plantation drive on his birth anniversary. The campus buzzed with energy as over 1,400 students and faculty members planted more than 1,000 saplings across the grounds.

Students from various disciplines, including Engineering, Biotechnology, Management, and Law, rolled up their sleeves to contribute to the initiative. Faculty members from every department came forward in full support.

Talking about the students’ spirited response, Sustainability and Community Engagement Director Poonam Nanda said, “We chose to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti with a plantation drive this year because the loss of green cover has had devastating effects. We wanted to encourage students to actively preserve the environment.”

4th National Pharmacovigilance Week Focuses on Patient Safety

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University marked the 4th National Pharmacovigilance Week from September 16 to 24. The theme for this year was ‘Building ADR Reporting Culture for Patient Safety.’ The event focused on raising awareness about the significance of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting to protect patient health.

A key feature of the week was an online webinar that discussed essential topics, including the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PVPI) and the Materiovigilance Programme of India (MVPI). Esteemed speakers Prof Bikash Medhi, Dr Ajay Prakash, and Dr Sandhya from the Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, shared valuable insights into the critical role of pharmacovigilance in healthcare.

Pharmacy faculty and students organised an awareness campaign at the Health Center on the campus, educating the public on the importance of ADR reporting and its impact on patient safety. Professor and Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr Deepak Kapoor, highlighted the need for pharmacovigilance to ensure the responsible use of medicines and safeguard public health.

Throughout the week, pharmacy students participated in various activities, including digital flyers and poster creation. They delivered extempore presentations advocating for pharmacovigilance awareness.

Programme coordinator Dr Raveen Chauhan guided students on the adverse effects of commonly prescribed drugs and stressed the importance of ADR reporting by healthcare professionals and patients to improve the safety of medicines.

Palki Sheoran Wins Tansen Ki Khoj Title at Musical Event

Shoolini University recently conducted a two-day musical talent hunt, Tansen Ki Khoj, at the Open Air Theatre (OAT) on Shoolini campus. The annual event discovers exceptional musical talent among students from various departments.

On the first day, after a round of impressive performances, 70 talented students were shortlisted. The second day saw intense competition, with 12 finalists advancing to the final round. Palki Sheoran from the Department of Psychology emerged as the winner. Harshvardhan Arjariya, a first-year student from the Law department, secured the runner-up position.

The event was organised by the Dean of Students Welfare team and Associate Dean Students Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra , along with faculty members, Vikrant Chauhan, and Amit Ghotta.

Tansen Ki Khoj is an annual musical event that not only provides a platform for students to showcase their musical talents but also highlights the University’s commitment to promoting extracurricular activities.

Shoolini Signs Research Pact with InquantumShift

Shoolini University has partnered with InquantumShift Labs Private Limited, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on quantum computing, semiconductor technology, and advanced research initiatives.

This strategic alliance will promote global exposure, joint research programmes, and innovation-driven projects for students and faculty alike.

The key highlights of the agreement include joint research programmes, government-funded projects, reciprocal internships, and collaborative efforts on intellectual property. Both institutions will also engage in academic exchanges and joint conferences, creating a robust bridge between academia and industry.

Shoolini University Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand said, “The partnership will open new avenues for innovation and industry-driven learning for our students and faculty.”

Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla noted that the collaboration was timely and aligned with national priorities, particularly with the Prime Minister of India's emphasis on quantum computing and semiconductor chip design.

With this, Shoolini University has been positioned as the second private institution in India to make substantial strides in quantum technologies and semiconductor research, following Bengaluru's leadership in the sector. “"This collaboration will not only secure critical funding and industry connections, but also set the stage for groundbreaking advancements," said Shoolini iHub Coordinator Prof Deepak Kumar.

MasterChef MBA Sprint

MasterChef Finalist, Industry Experts lead MBA SPRINT

The School of Business Management at Shoolini University recently conducted a two-week Stanford-Inspired SPRINT (TM) Bootcamp for final-year MBA students from September 3rd to 14th. The event featured industry experts and a special guest appearance by MasterChef India finalist Siddharth Talwar. 

Talwar shared his journey on MasterChef India Season 5, showcasing his culinary skills and encouraging students to follow their passions. He also spoke about his work as a freelance culinary consultant and social media influencer. 

The program included a session by Rajan Sachdeva, Cluster Area Head at NIVA BUPA Health Insurance. Sachdeva explained the wide range of career opportunities in the insurance industry, beyond just sales. Four Shoolini alumni, currently under his guidance, shared their experiences in roles like risk management and customer relations, crediting their Shoolini education for helping them succeed. 

Maj Gen Neeraj Bali, an Executive Performance Coach and TEDx Speaker, led sessions on discipline, time management, teamwork, and lessons from his military career. He urged students to prioritise important tasks and emphasised the importance of personal responsibility.

Marathon

Shoolini Hosts 11th Marathon for a Drug-Free India

Over 600 students and staff members from Shoolini University took to the streets for the university's 11th Annual Marathon, dedicated to raising awareness for a Drug-Free India. Initially planned for Teachers' Day on September 5, the event was postponed due to poor weather conditions. Instead, it was held on Hindi Divas, adding a cultural flavour to the day.

Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma flagged off the marathon at Thodo Ground. Additional Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar Yadav, Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, and SILB Chairperson Saroj Khosla were also present.

The marathon featured two courses—one 10-kilometre route for the women participants, finishing at Zero Point, and a longer 15-kilometre route for the men runners, concluding at the Milkha Singh Stadium on the Shoolini campus. To ensure the safety of participants, the university collaborated with local traffic police, who managed the marathon route. In addition, two ambulances were on standby, and multiple water stations and first-aid points were set up along the course.

The prize distribution ceremony, presided over by Prof Khosla, honoured the top runners. In the Women’s category, Shalija, an MBA student, claimed first place at 42:43:46, followed closely by Jenifer (B Com Hons) and Apoorva (MBA). In the Men’s category, Le'andre, a B Tech Biotech student, finished first with a time of 51:25, with David (B Tech Biotech) and Anash (MBA) securing second and third positions. The winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹2500 for first place, ₹2000 for second, and ₹1500 for third.

Associate Dean of Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra and his team, along with Head of the Sports Department Vikrant Chauhan and Director of Operations Brigadier Sunil Mehta, contributed to the marathon's success.

Research Funding Talk

Expert Talk On Research Funding Held

The School of Biotechnology at Shoolini University held a day-long expert talk on ‘Research Funding and its Impact on Publications’. The session was led by Prof Ashis K Mukherjee, Director of the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati.

Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla opened the session, emphasising the role of research in academia and the importance of securing funding to enhance research quality and impact. He also encouraged faculty and students to actively seek funding opportunities to support their work.

Prof Mukherjee, an expert in venom biochemistry and biotechnology, gave an overview of research funding in India and on the global front. He explained how research grants improved the quality of research, contributing to impactful publications. He highlighted that publishing high-quality research increased a researcher’s visibility and strengthened the institution’s reputation, attracting more funding and collaboration opportunities.

After the talk, there was an interactive session where faculty and students discussed research funding, publication ethics, and the value of international collaborations. Prof Mukherjee shared insights on securing funding from organisations like the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as well as the importance of mentoring young researchers.

Concluding the event, Prof Azhar Khan, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, expressed gratitude to Prof Mukherjee for sharing his knowledge.

Shoolini & BSI Learning (Australia) Partner for Global Skills

Shoolini University has forged a strategic partnership with BSI Learning Institute (Australia) to boost educational programs in Cyber Security and Hotel Management. 

  BSI Learning Institute CEO Kala Philip and Shoolini University President and Dean (FMS) Prof Munish Sahrawat signed the MoU on the university campus. Starting October 1, this partnership will focus on meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals through joint research, development, marketing, and distribution.  

  Shoolini University, known for its international partnerships and focus on sustainability, sees this collaboration as a step towards strengthening educational ties and improving employability through skill development. The partnership also aligns with various Government-to-Government (G2G) initiatives under the India-Australia collaboration. 

  Both institutions have expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasising their shared goal of ‘Changing a million lives by 2030 through learning.’ The MoU will be governed by the laws of Himachal Pradesh, India, providing a clear legal framework for this international cooperation in education.

ISRO Scientist Highlights India’s Space Success

Shoolini University recently celebrated National Space Day with an engaging seminar titled ‘Indian Dominance in Space,’ organised by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The event featured an inspiring talk by Thakur Sudesh Kumar Raunija, Quality Control Divisional Head and Senior Scientist at ISRO. 

Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla warmly welcomed and honoured Thakur Raunija for his significant contributions to India's space program. 

The seminar attracted over 200 students eager to learn about India's achievements in space exploration and their potential roles in this exciting field. 

During his talk, Thakur Raunija provided an insightful overview of ISRO's advancements in India's space capabilities. He emphasised the importance of accuracy in space research and shared valuable advice on succeeding in this field. He also encouraged students to explore opportunities in space research and contribute to India’s growing success on the global stage.

Prof Atul Khosla Honoured with ‘Atal Fellow Award’

Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla was awarded the Atal Fellow Award by ReTHINK INDIA on August 16. This award recognises the university's exceptional efforts in ‘Advancing Technological Adoption for Learning’, especially through its innovative edutech platform, eUniv. 

The award ceremony took place online on the Punyatithi of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, celebrating his contributions to India. Prof Khosla was honoured for his leadership in developing eUniv, a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to enhance education. Inaugurated by the late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in 2013, eUniv has grown into a comprehensive Student Support Platform. 

Prof Khosla aims to create a learning environment at Shoolini University that promotes innovation and prepares students for future challenges. The Atal Fellow Award highlights the collective efforts of Shoolini University to transform education through technology.

Shoolini Signs MoU with the University of Liverpool

Shoolini University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Liverpool, UK, a prominent provider of online postgraduate degrees in Europe. This partnership will promote academic and research cooperation between the two institutions.

The MoU was officially signed in London by University of Liverpool Vice Chancellor Prof Tim Jones and Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla. The agreement outlines a broad range of collaborative efforts, including the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge, joint research initiatives, faculty and staff exchanges, and student exchange programmes.

Prof Atul Khosla highlighted the opportunities it will create for both students and staff at Shoolini University. “This MoU will pave the way for exciting prospects in education and research, benefiting our community. We are eager to begin implementing these initiatives from the present academic year," he stated.

Currently in the UK, Prof Khosla is exploring additional collaborations with other institutions to expand research opportunities, student and faculty exchanges, and dual degree programmes for students interested in studying in both India and the UK.

The partnership with the University of Liverpool is a key move in Shoolini University's efforts to broaden its global presence and academic programmes.

Shoolini Hosts Dynamic Mentor-Mentee Programme

The Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) at Shoolini University recently hosted an impactful two-day Mentor-Mentee Programme marked by vibrant participation and innovative sessions. Supported by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the event brought together representatives from four prominent Northern Indian institutes.

The workshop attracted mentees from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Madhya Pradesh. The event featured insightful addresses by Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla and an introduction by Associate Professor Chander Mohan. Participants engaged in sessions on design thinking, innovation, and the patent filing process.

Notable expert speakers included Assistant Professor Brij Bhushan Sharma, Associate Professor Vinay Singh Negi, Associate Professor Apar Kaushik Sharma, Research Associate Chandresh Thakur, Research Associate Ruchika Sharma, Assistant Professor Saurabh Agarwal, Patent agent Umesh Kumar KU, and Advocate Himanshu Sharma. The workshop concluded with a round table discussion and success stories from Shoolini University’s inventors.

Shoolini Alumnus Joins Top Stem Cell Program in Germany

Shoolini University alumnus Suman Chakraborty has been accepted into the Master’s program in Stem Cell Biology at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. This accomplishment showcases the top-tier education and research opportunities provided by Shoolini. 

Hailing from West Bengal, Chakraborty completed his B Tech in Biotechnology at Shoolini University, where he developed a passion for stem cell research. His journey included impactful projects like ‘Mammalian Cell Culture and Dengue Virology R&D’ at Panacea Biotech and research on the ‘Production of Taxol using Endophytic Fungus’ under the mentorship of then Asst Prof Pradeep Bharadwaj. These experiences equipped him with the skills needed to thrive in advanced research. 

Chakraborty credits his success to the strong mentorship and support he received at Shoolini University. As he begins his studies at Ruhr University Bochum, he is eager to contribute to global healthcare through innovative solutions.

Shoolini Empowers Rural Women with Mushroom Training

A day-long training session on 'Mushroom Cultivation and Product Development' was organised for rural women at Shoolini University. This event, part of the 'Social Empowerment and Sustainability of Rural Population in the Western Himalayan Region' initiative, was jointly hosted by the MS Swaminathan School of Agriculture and the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology.

Over 20 women from nine Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Solan Block participated in the training. The aim was to provide comprehensive knowledge of mushroom cultivation techniques and product development from various fruits and vegetables.

Prof Somesh Sharma, Associate Dean of the MS Swaminathan School of Agriculture, inaugurated the programme. He noted that the women's enthusiasm and eagerness to learn were truly inspiring. The training provided invaluable knowledge on sustainable mushroom cultivation techniques and product development, focusing on economic profitability. Prof Sharma also thanked the university management for encouraging such initiatives and providing the necessary infrastructure.

The training covered various mushroom species and their year-round profitability potential, cultivation practices, and strategies for managing production issues. Government schemes offering incentives for mushroom cultivation and food processing were also highlighted.

During hands-on sessions in the food processing lab, participants made mushroom cookies, tomato ketchup, and puree, which received positive feedback for their taste and quality. These sessions emphasised the importance of adding value through food processing, reducing spoilage, and increasing productivity.

The programme ended with participants receiving certificates. Many expressed enthusiasm for future practical training, highlighting the value of hands-on learning.

Q?riosity 2024: India’s Biggest School Quiz Gets Ready to Roll!

Shoolini University is all set to host Q?riosity 2024, India's premier inter-school quiz competition. Celebrated for igniting intellectual curiosity among higher secondary students, this annual event promises an even grander and more thrilling experience this year. The quiz for students will take place on 20th August, with school registrations beginning on 20th July.

Open to students of Grades 10,11, and 12 across all disciplines, the quiz welcomes over 35,000 participants from 700 schools nationwide. This platform provides a unique opportunity for students to showcase their critical thinking, academic aptitude, and general knowledge. The initial three rounds, which will happen on the Q?riosity web platform, will shortlist students for live rounds at the beautiful Shoolini University Campus, just a 90-minute drive from Chandigarh.

The competition boasts attractive prizes such as iPads, Smartphones & Smartwatches. All participants will receive e-certificates in recognition of their effort and participation.

Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla emphasised, “If you aspire to be future leaders, you must go beyond the frontiers of textbook learning. Quizzing is the starting point because when you are quizzing, you challenge people around you, and most importantly, you learn things beyond your coursework.”

The purpose of the quiz is ‘Adding Fun to Knowledge.’ This quiz offers students from across the country a fun, transparent, and unbiased platform to compete, showcase their capabilities, and ignite their passion for well-rounded learning with the spirit of healthy competition.

Next-Gen Civil Engineering

e-FDP on Next-Gen Civil Engineering Held

Shoolini University hosted a five-day online Faculty Development Programme (e-FDP) titled ‘Next-Gen Civil Engineering: The Power of AI and GIS’, organised by the School of Core Engineering and AIU-Shoolini AADC. The event explored the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in civil engineering. 

The purpose of the e-FDP was to revolutionise traditional methodologies in infrastructure development, urban planning, and environmental management by integrating AI and GIS technologies. It equipped faculty members with advanced knowledge and practical insights, enhancing their teaching and research capabilities and aligning Shoolini University's curriculum with contemporary industry standards. 

Prof Virender Rihani, Dean of Engineering, inaugurated the programme and welcomed all speakers and participants. The e-FDP featured distinguished speakers from prestigious institutions, including Mahesh Sharma (UIT-HPU Shimla), Akhilesh Nautiyal (NIT Uttarakhand), Hitesh Upreti (Shiv Nadar University), Paratibha Aggarwal (NIT Kurukshetra), and Ritam Chakraborty (GIS Analyst, OLA). 

The experts delivered sessions on AI, machine learning tools in civil engineering, remote sensing techniques, innovations in transportation engineering, and water resource engineering. Participants also engaged in hands-on demonstrations of GIS software in transportation engineering.

More than 56 faculty members and research scholars participated in the e-FDP. They were from top institutions, including Shoolini University, Government Hydro Engineering College (Bilaspur), NIT Hamirpur, Chitkara University (Punjab), Gujarat Technological University, Manipal University (Rajasthan), Mahatma Gandhi Government Engineering College (Kotla, Jeori, Shimla), and United College of Engineering & Research (Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh). 

In the valedictory session, Prof MS Thakur thanked the speakers for their enriching lectures and the participants for their enthusiastic involvement. The e-FDP was coordinated by Assistant Professors Arunava Poddar and Navsal Kumar from the School of Core Engineering at Shoolini University.

Shoolini Hosts Free Traditional Healing Camp

The Yogananda School of Spirituality and Happiness at Shoolini University, in collaboration with the Medical College of Sorig Bumzhi Menriling, Dolanji, recently held a two-day free medical camp on Traditional Healing. The event was part of the celebrations for the birthday week of the 14th Dalai Lama. 

Dr Youngdrung Woser Gurung from Dolanji Monastery, an expert in traditional Tibetan medicine, expressed his gratitude to India for its role in promoting traditional medicine. The Healing camp provided various free services, including acupuncture, moksha, massage, and other traditional treatments. Dr Young also extended his medical services to the university's teachers and management members. 

Dr Saamdu Chetri, Director of the Yogananda School of Spirituality and Happiness, thanked Dr Gurung for his valuable contributions, noting that his expertise, enriched by his recent expedition to the high-altitude Tibetan Dolpo Region of Nepal, brought a unique and invaluable experience to the event.

Stellar Performances at Himalayan’s Got Talent Auditions

The auditions for the highly anticipated ‘Himalayan's Got Talent’ at Shoolini University drew an enthusiastic crowd and showcased diverse talents. The annual event is organised by the vice president of the organisation and Shoolini University Assistant Professor Sushil Kumar.

Participants from Shoolini University, as well as from Solan, Shimla, and Rajgarh, exhibited their talents with enthusiasm. The event featured performances by both students and faculty members of Shoolini University. Monika, Indu Negi, Vijay, and Vineet from Shoolini University captivated the audience with their mesmerising dances and melodious voices.

The chief guest for the event was Vikram Mehta, Himachal Pradesh's emerging model and actor, adding a touch of glamour and excitement to the auditions. The judges panel included Himachal Pradesh's renowned singer Sonu Bhardwaj and Dr Sushil Kumar, who evaluated the participants' performances with expertise and precision.

Special guests Sheela Chhetri, Nishita, and Samriti Manta also attended the event with their performances, further elevating the atmosphere.

The auditions concluded with the announcement that the talented participants will have the opportunity to advance to the TV round, which will be broadcast on the popular Punjabi Hits channel.

Prof Nasser Dasht Peyma, a distinguished writer and academic at Shoolini University, has released his latest book, ‘Echoes of the Unbound Sky.’ Known for his influential works and numerous articles in top journals, Prof Peyma draws inspiration from his personal and professional experiences, particularly his fascination with identity and societal constraints. 

Prof Peyma explains, “As an academic and writer, I've long been interested in exploring the complexities of identity and the limitations imposed by society. This passion drove me to write a story about self-discovery and authenticity.”  

‘Echoes of the Unbound Sky’ follows Roya’s transformative journey, encouraging readers to reflect on their own lives and societal constraints. The book's rich themes and compelling narrative aim to inspire readers to forge their unique paths and accept their true selves.

Principals’ Conclave Sparks Innovation in Education

At the Principals' Conclave organised by Shoolini University, more than 33 principals from leading educational institutions shared insights for innovation in education. The event was held at Hotel Hamir in Hamirpur on June 8.

Prominent among those present at the event included Rajneesh Kanwar, Founder Principal of Pradesh Public International School of Sciences, and Vikas Dixit, Director of Blue Star. Prof RC Lakhanpal, Founder and Director of Him Academy, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to education. Each participating principal received the Shiksha Bhushan Award for their dedication to the education sector.   

Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla opened the event with a compelling speech, highlighting the university's journey. He emphasised that anyone could be innovative… provided they could think outside the box and worked hard.   

Shoolini University Outreach Director Shikha Sood warmly welcomed the attendees, setting a positive tone for the day. Deputy Director and Head of the Centre for Leadership Coaching, Payal Khanna, shared the inspiring Shoolini Story, captivating the audience with her interactive approach.

Shoolini Inks Research Pact with iHub-Data

In a significant step towards advancing research and skill development in higher education, Shoolini University, Solan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iHub-Data (TIH), Indian Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH).  

The collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities and resources of both institutions in the realms of data analytics and technology innovation. 

The MoU was signed by Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of iHub-Data. The agreement emphasises a mutual commitment to develop translational research and create practical solutions to address societal needs. 

Prof Khosla highlighted the importance of this partnership in bridging the gap in translational research. Prof Khosla said, “This collaboration with iHub-Data will enhance our ability to translate research findings into practical applications, which is crucial in today's fast-evolving technological landscape. iHub-Data, under the auspices of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) at IIITH, has been making remarkable strides in data analytics. 

Shoolini University School of Core Engineering Dean Prof Virender Rihani highlighted the various skill-development activities planned under this MoU. “We look forward to facilitating faculty and staff exchanges, short-term training programmes, and workshops that will enhance the skills and knowledge of our academic community. This partnership will create a robust platform for innovation and learning,” he stated. 

Key faculty members, including Prof Pankaj Vaidya and Arvind Sharma from the Yogananda School of AI, Computers, and Data Science, expressed gratitude to the Director of IIITH, the CEO of iHub-Data, and CK Raju, Head of the Education Programme at iHub-Data, for their support. 
TOCFL Exam

Shoolini Hosts Inaugural TOCFL Exam with Taiwan Embassy

Shoolini University, in collaboration with the Embassy of Taiwan, conducted the first official Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) Mandarin exam in the Himachal Pradesh region. As many as 23 Shoolini students and three students from IIT Ropar took the exam. The presence of Taiwanese Mandarin teacher Xiao Jia-Feng and Chief Invigilator Ho Mei-Tzu, an officer from the TOCFL Mandarin exam centre of the Taiwan Embassy, added to the exam's credibility. Ho Mei-Tzu, who also teaches Mandarin at Bluebells International School in New Delhi, travelled to Shoolini University to oversee the examination process.

A notable highlight was the participation of three Shoolini students in the higher-level Band A exam for the first time. Achieving Band A certificates is expected to boost their career prospects within the Chinese-speaking world and with international companies.

The Taiwan Education Centre has committed to recommending these students for job interviews with leading Taiwanese firms, including Foxconn in India. Foxconn, known for manufacturing 70% of the world's iPhones, is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shoolini University in July. This MoU will allow Shoolini students to bypass the highly competitive initial document review stage in Foxconn's hiring process.

Additionally, students who participated in the TOCFL exam can now apply for the Annual MOE Mandarin Scholarships. These scholarships offer a generous stipend of 65,000 INR per month for two to three months to study Mandarin in Taiwan. Students achieving Band A level certificates may also qualify for extended scholarships of more than six months.

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Shoolini University organised the TOCFL exam. The dedicated Chinese language instructor at Shoolini, Chen Mong Chun, expressed confidence in the students' preparedness, highlighting the comprehensive measures taken to ensure their comfort and readiness before and during the examination.

The collaboration between Shoolini University and the Taiwanese Embassy sets a strong precedent for future language proficiency assessments, creating greater cultural and academic exchange.

National Lok Adalat

Law Students Gain Practical Insights at National Lok Adalat

Students pursuing BALLB and LLB degrees at Shoolini University recently attended the National Lok Adalat, organised by the District Legal Services Authority at the District Court Complex in Solan. Here, they gained real-life experience in the practical aspects of legal proceedings. The aim was to familiarise students with the methods and techniques used by Lok Adalats to resolve disputes amicably.

Guided by Assistant Prof Vineet Kumar and Kusum Verma from the Faculty of Legal Sciences, the students delved into real-world applications of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences Prof Nandan Sharma emphasised that the initiative was a crucial part of the students' practical learning curriculum. “It offers them pragmatic insights into legal proceedings beyond the traditional courtroom setting,” he said.

The visit focused on enhancing students' understanding of Lok Adalat's role in harmonious dispute resolution. By witnessing these alternative mechanisms firsthand, students gained a deeper appreciation of their significance in the legal landscape.

District and Sessions Judge Arvind Malhotra, Additional District and Sessions Judge Vivek Khanal, and Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramnik Sharma were present during the proceedings. They motivated the students to take a practical approach to their legal education. The cases addressed during the Lok Adalat spanned various domains, including domestic violence, restitution of conjugal rights, and property disputes. This provided students with a multifaceted exposure to the complexities of real-world legal issues.

Another event highlight was the interaction between the students and Additional District and Sessions Judge Vivek Khanal. He generously offered them internship opportunities twice a year. This will provide invaluable practical exposure to aspiring legal professionals.

He runs his production house, Mishi Media, headquartered in Jaipur. With 14 years of experience in promotions, reporting, producing, and writing, Mishi Media has become the third-largest digital agency in Rajasthan.

Shoolinian Wins Best Poster Award at National Symposium

Arun Kumar, a PhD student from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, has won the American Chemical Society (ACS) Medicinal Chemistry Best Poster Award at the National Symposium RABMC-2024 (Recent Advances in Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry).

The symposium, organised at Panjab University by eight premier institutes including CRICK, NIPER, IISER, PEC, IIT Ropar, IMTECH, INST, Panjab University, and CIAB, also awarded Arun Kumar a cash prize.

Arun Kumar is pursuing PhD under the supervision of Prof Deepak Kumar at Shoolini University, focusing on heterocyclic compounds for cancer drug discovery. Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla and Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla congratulated Arun and his supervisor for this outstanding accomplishment.

Shoolini and Govt College Sanjauli Sign MoU

Shoolini University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Excellence, Government College, Sanjauli, Shimla, to enhance academic collaboration. The MoU was signed by Chancellor Prof PK Khosla of Shoolini University and Principal Bharti Bhagra of Government College, Sanjauli.   

The partnership grants Government College Sanjauli access to Shoolini University's advanced laboratories and comprehensive library resources, benefiting students and faculty members. Moreover, the agreement supports joint research projects between the two institutions, fostering collaborative efforts and promising significant advancements in various academic fields.   

Chancellor Prof Khosla emphasised the importance of the partnership, stating, "This collaboration marks a significant step forward in academic cooperation and the pursuit of research excellence. Shoolini Hosts Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

To observe World Intellectual Property (IPR) Day, Shoolini University's Faculty of Legal Sciences, in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, hosted a seminar on 'Emerging Trends in Intellectual Property Rights: Issues and Challenges.' The event featured a series of activities, including a quiz and poster-making, to promote a deeper understanding of IPR.   

The seminar was inaugurated by Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, who emphasised the critical role of IPR in promoting innovation and protecting creators' rights. The event featured Prof Jyoti Rattan from Panjab University as the main speaker, who discussed the intersection of Intellectual Property with artificial intelligence and its implications for society.   

Assistant Professor Richika, an accomplished IP attorney, introduced the university's IPR cell, setting the stage for a day dedicated to intellectual exploration. The event also highlighted the talents of students through a quiz and a poster-making competition. Seema and Tanya, second-year BALLB students, won the quiz, while Manshi, a first-year BALLB student, took first place in the poster-making competition.   

The seminar concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Kusum Verma thanked the dignitaries, participants, and organisers. Prof Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, closed the event by thanking the participants for their engagement and highlighting the importance of such initiatives in enhancing awareness of intellectual property rights.

Green Giggles - Earth Day

Earth Day celebrations begin with ‘Green Giggles’

Shoolini University marked Earth Day with a unique event, 'Green Giggles', a presentation competition hosted by the School of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences on April 22. The competition brought together eight teams from various departments, promoting sustainability through humour and innovative ideas. 

The School of Media and Communications clinched first place, while the School of Agriculture secured second. The judging panel included Dean Research Prof Saurabh Kulshrestha, Associate Professor Rachna Verma, Assistant Professor Vihang Ghalasi, and Associate Professor Santanu Mukherjee. 

The event commenced with a keynote speech from Santanu Mukherjee from the School of Agriculture. He highlighted microplastics' environmental threats and the urgent need for collective global action to mitigate plastic pollution. 

Participants from the School of Biotechnology presented actionable sustainability strategies, advocating for reduced plastic usage, avoiding harmful chemicals in skincare, sustainable fashion, and overall eco-friendly lifestyle choices. 

The successful coordination of the event was led by Assistant Professor Nitika Thakur, Chandresh Kumari, Associate Professor Aditi Sharma, and Assistant Professor Shubhangi Sood. Earth Day is celebrated globally on April 22, focusing on environmental protection, with participation from over 193 countries.

Educators Unite at Shoolini’s Innovation Event

Shoolini University’s Outreach Team recently concluded the third cohort of their event series titled ‘Unlocking Counsellors Toolkit through Research and Innovation’. The two-day event saw participation from 35 counsellors representing prominent educational institutions across India, such as Mayo College, Ajmer; Strawberry Fields High School, Chandigarh; JBCN International School, Mumbai; Sanskar Valley School, Bhopal; The Shri Ram School, Delhi; Legacy School, Bangalore; Shiv Nadar School, Noida; Kunskapsskolan, Lucknow; and Assam Valley School, Assam.

“If it had been possible, I would have brought back the 'Fiza and Mausam' to Lucknow, but I am definitely taking back loads of learning and some beautiful friendships," said Apurva, a counsellor from Kunskapsskolan School, Lucknow. Such was the impact of the event on the attendees.

The event featured an array of informative sessions covering various topics, including Shoolini’s Flagship Summit Research Program (SRP), insights into the University of Melbourne Dual Degree Program with Shoolini University, discussions on Artificial Intelligence, the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and patenting, as well as an exploration into the evolving career landscape and prospects.

Director of Placements and Admissions, Avnee Khosla, expressed gratitude to all visitors for travelling from distant places. She said, “Your visit will help take research and innovation to every corner of the country and inspire children. Thank you for being a wonderful, excited, passionate, and knowledgeable group of educators."

The primary objective was to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration, and introduce educators to Shoolini University’s efforts in nurturing the next generation of leaders. Photography Workshop Discusses Digital Imaging

The School of Media and Communications at Shoolini University recently hosted a workshop on Digital Photography Techniques. Renowned photographer Nitin Kumar Mengi, the guest speaker at the session, brought a fresh perspective to digital imaging. He has over 15 years of experience in academia and professional photography. Mengi received the Punjab Lalit Kala Academy State Award in 2011 for his skills in fine arts photography.

During the interactive session, Mengi emphasised the role of light in photography, describing it as the essence behind every captivating image. “Photography means drawing with light,” he said, while explaining the connection between light and the art of capturing moments.

Talking about the digital and mirror DSLR cameras, he detailed the technical and subtle differences between them. Next came a volley of questions from the audience. He clarified file size discrepancies and how the efficiency of the processor impacted the final output.

The state awardee urged participants to cultivate keen observation skills, recommending beginner-friendly devices for new photographers.
World Water Day

Students Paint Conservation Message on World Water Day

Shoolini University hosted an inter-departmental poster-making competition on World Water Day, where students participated with great enthusiasm. The aim was to raise awareness of critical issues related to the conservation and management of water. Participants created posters on three themes: ‘Sustainable Water Management’, ‘Impact of Water Pollution on Human Health’, and ‘Accountability in Addressing Water Pollution’.   

Appreciating students for their support and participation, Dean Student Welfare Poonam Nanda said, “The students did a very creative job of spreading awareness about water conservation.”

Alopa Grabs First Place in Extempore Competition  

Alopa Verma from the School of Media and Communications won the extempore competition, ‘Shoolini Snap Speak’, organised by the Young Communicators Club (YCC). She spoke on ‘Manifestation’, which she created from the theme, ‘Magic’. Alopa was awarded a winning certificate and a gift voucher. Stuti Sharma and Sherry Singla bagged second prizes and Saloni Thakur won the third prize.

The judges included Prof Nasser Dasht Peyma, Dr Prakash Chand and Prof Geetansh. School of Media and Communications Director and Shoolini YCC Mentor Prof Vipin Pubby, and PRCI Senior Vice President Charanjeet Singh were also present. Over 30 students from different departments participated in the competition.  
Russian Scientists Research

Shoolini Hosts Russian Scientists for Research Collaboration

A delegation from the Russian Academy of Sciences and Moscow State University visited the Shoolini University campus to collaborate on a DST-funded Indo-Russian joint research project focused on scientific advancement.

The team was led by Prof Mikhail Vlaskin, head of the Laboratory at The Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, and Prof Kiseleva Sophia from Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia. They were joined by Prof Vinod Kumar, head of the Department of Food Science and Technology at Graphic Era University, Dehradun, India. Prof Pankaj Kumar Chauhan from the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology at Shoolini University extended a warm welcome to the delegates, emphasising the importance of collaboration for research excellence and innovation.

During their visit, the delegation engaged in meaningful discussions with Shoolini University's leadership, including Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand, and Director of Innovations and Learning at Shoolini University, Ashish Khosla.

They also met with the head of the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology and other senior faculty members. These interactions provided a platform for sharing insights and expertise across various research areas, enriching the academic dialogue, and laying the groundwork for future joint endeavours.

This scientific visit is an important step in enhancing international collaboration, academic discourse, and advancing knowledge across borders. “By bringing together experts from diverse disciplines and cultural backgrounds, Shoolini University and its Russian counterparts have set a precedent for global partnerships in research and education,” said Prof Pankaj Kumar Chauhan.

English Learning Program

Empowering International Voices with English Learning Program

Shoolini University is a top choice for students because it goes the extra mile to provide the best opportunities. A recent milestone includes the graduation of another batch from the English Learning Program (ELP) organised by the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts. The program, which started on November 1st, 2023, and concluded on January 31st, 2024, aimed to assist international students in mastering the basics of the English language. This program, successfully running for the past three years, ensures that their relocation to a different geographical location does not impact their standing in the job market.

The university firmly believes in the Sanskrit phrase ‘Atithi Devo Bhava,’ which means ‘The guest is equivalent to God.’ This philosophy guides their treatment of international students, who come from various countries like Syria, South Africa, Afghanistan, and more.

Understanding the language barrier that International students may face, Shoolini University launched the English Learning Program (ELP). This program starts three months before their session begins. Students enrol in the program to learn the basics of English and Hindi, making it easier for them to communicate with their peers on campus.

Professor Purnima Bali, Head of Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, shares that the initiative started three years ago in 2021. She says, “Teaching students from different parts of the world has been an enriching experience. They are eager to learn a new language, and the bond formed with each student is exceptional. The students also receive a certificate upon completion of the program.” This certainly lays a foundation for their educational journey ahead at Shoolini.

Chancellor Honours Thakur Ram Singh’s Legacy at Jayanti Samaroh

At the 109th Jayanti Samaroh of Thakur Ram Singh, held at the Thakur Ram Singh Institute of History Research in Neri, Hamirpur, Shoolini University Chancellor Prof Prem Kumar Khosla commended Himachal Pradesh for its rich cultural heritage and intellectual legacy. He highlighted these attributes as sources of inspiration to the world.

As the chief guest, Prof Khosla highlighted the enduring impact of Indian civilisation on the global stage and expressed optimism for future generations' leadership abilities. He also released two books, ‘Smarika Varshik Prativedan’ by the Thakur Ram Singh History Research Institute and ‘Tribal Polity Society and Culture of Arunachal Pradesh’ by Narayan Singh Rao.

The event, organised by the Thakur Ram Singh History Research Institute, celebrated the visionary contributions of its founder. Prof Khosla and Saroj Khosla, Founder President and Trustee of the Foundation for Liberal Sciences and Business Management (FLSBM), were felicitated by Secretary Chet Ram Garg for their significant contributions to academia and society.

The commemoration saw participation from students, researchers, and academicians from various government and private universities and colleges, who paid tribute to Thakur Ram Singh. Kismat Kumar, Professor at the Ambedkar Centre, Central University of HP, and Gautam Sharma, a noted Hindi scholar and historian, presided over the event. The discussion on ‘Social Thinking and Philosophy of Thakur Ram Singh’ shed light on the region's intellectual legacy.
Puri Science Fellowship

Prof Puri Receives Prestigious Science Fellowship

Prof Sunil Puri, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Registrar at Shoolini University was honoured with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Punjab Academy of Sciences. This esteemed recognition was bestowed upon him at the valedictory function of the 27th Punjab Science Congress on February 9 at Desh Bhagat University in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab.

The Honorary Fellowship is a distinguished award, recognising individuals who have made significant contributions to the fields of science and academia. The Academy has awarded honorary fellowships to 100 eminent scientists from both India and abroad for substantial contributions to advancing innovation in the fields of Science and Technology.

Being recognised by the esteemed organisation highlights Prof Puri's accomplishments and elevates his standing within the scientific community. As a distinguished academician and researcher, Prof Puri has published 189 papers and authored 13 books. His work comprises diverse topics such as stress physiology, land use systems, climate impacts, agroforestry, biofuel, and energy conservation.

Further, Prof Puri's initiatives in education, including the introduction of innovative programs at Shoolini University and the establishment of the MSc Agroforestry program at Haryana Agricultural University, have enriched the academic landscape. His efforts have not only shaped the curriculum but also influenced teaching methodologies, benefiting students and institutions alike.

Prof Puri's contributions extend beyond academia, encompassing practical solutions for sustainable land management and environmental conservation. His work on biomass production, carbon storage, and species selection under agroforestry practices has practical implications for mitigating climate change and enhancing ecosystem resilience.

Expressing gratitude, Prof Puri stated, “I am honoured by the recognition from the Punjab Academy of Sciences. My accomplishments are largely due to Shoolini University, and especially our Chancellor, Prof PK Khosla, whose mentorship has been invaluable. I am humbled to follow in his footsteps.”

Shoolini Partners with IPB for MBA Program

Shoolini University has signed an MoU with the Institute of Professional Banking (IPB) to launch an MBA program in Banking and Financial Services at Shoolini University. Prof Ashish Khosla, President of Innovation and Marketing and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Shoolini University, and Gursimran Singh Oberoi, Managing Director, and founder, Institute of Professional Banking (IPB), signed the MoU in the presence of notable attendees.

Prof Ashish Khosla said, “Youngsters are inclined towards careers in banking and finance, which is why we plan to equip Shoolini students through online and distance education. They can pick up relevant skills for successful placement and roles in this sector. We want to be the most preferred university for skilling banks, NBFCs, and fintech companies. Prof Khosla, with his background as a senior banker at top global banks, seeks to lead Shoolini University's online MBA students into the dynamic banking and finance sector.

Oberoi viewed the collaboration as a milestone for academic and professional development in banking and finance, setting the stage for nurturing industry-ready leaders. The initiative, led by Tarun Gupta, Director of Operations at the Shoolini University Centre for Distance and Online Education (SCDOE), signifies a strategic blend of education and industry expertise.
SDG Awareness

Shoolini Drives SDG Awareness in Villages

The Centre of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology (CEEST) at Shoolini University recently hosted a workshop titled 'Implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for Local Village Communities'. This event was a collaborative effort with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Dean of Student Welfare at Shoolini University, Solan. The workshop saw participation from approximately 30 representatives, including those from Development Block Solan, Project Officers, Block Development Officers (BDOs), Panchayat Secretaries, Engineers, and Panchayat Presidents (Pradhans) and Members from Gram Panchayats Sanhol, Sultanpur, and Shamti.

Shoolini University Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla inaugurated the workshop. He announced the university's initiative to adopt four local panchayats — Sanhol, Sultanpur, Oachghat, and Shamti — in the Solan Block. "This initiative will implement Sustainable Development Goal 7, focusing on providing modern, clean, and affordable energy. The plan includes the development of passive solar designs for houses under the PM Awas Yojna," he added.

Prof Khosla emphasised that CEEST, known for its significant contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), will spearhead the implementation of renewable energy technologies in these panchayats. This will be done following a comprehensive survey, in collaboration with the BDO of Solan.

CEEST Director Prof SS Chandel outlined an action plan focusing on renewable technologies for sustainable village development. He highlighted the potential of low-cost solar technologies in rural areas. Solan BDO Rajni Gautam praised Prof Khosla's initiative to establish model villages demonstrating sustainable practices aligned with Shoolini University's goals.

During the workshop, participants visited the university's solar energy facilities. Rahul Chandel showcased the concentrated solar-powered communal steam cooking system capable of serving 500 people and a 400 kWp grid-connected solar photovoltaic power plant installed across various university buildings and parking sheds.

FDP on Mindfulness Wraps Up with Positive Impact

The Centre of Happiness at Shoolini University recently held a highly successful 6-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 'Mindfulness: The Seed of Happiness'. As many as 65 faculty members, including Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, participated in the event.

Prof Saamdu Chetri, Director of the School of Ancient Indian Wisdom and Yogic Studies, and Director of the Centre of Happiness conducted the FDP. As the keynote speaker and facilitator, Prof Chetri explored the deep and transformative concept of mindfulness. The participants engaged in various mindfulness practices, which included breathing with verses, visualisation techniques, body awareness and the five senses, mindful movements, and sound meditation (AUM Chant). These teachings were designed to foster happiness through mindfulness, enriching and inspiring the participants.    Prof PK Khosla and Chief Learning Officer Dr Ashoo Khosla presented certificates to the participants. Assistant Professor Apar Kaushik and the dedicated Happiness team played a pivotal role in coordinating the FDP.

Lawmaking Demystified at Guest Lecture

Shoolini University's Faculty of Legal Sciences recently hosted a guest lecture on 'Legislative Processes of the Parliament'. Speaker Raghab Dash, Joint Secretary of the Rajya Sabha, Government of India, and Advisor to the Ministry of Education, delivered a talk about parliamentary systems among students, faculty, and attendees, demystifying lawmaking.

Dash talked about the legislative processes, explaining key concepts, structures, and functions of the legislative branch, offering clarity on how it operates within a government.

The lecture covered various aspects of a parliamentary system, including comparisons between bicameral and unicameral models, the distinct roles of upper and lower houses, and the importance of parliamentary committees in scrutinising legislation. Additionally, Dash detailed the journey of a bill from introduction to enactment, encompassing stages such as committee scrutiny, debates, voting, and eventual passage. He also addressed challenges like transparency, accountability, and legislative gridlock.

Faculty of Legal Sciences Associate Dean Nandan Sharma noted that this lecture was a part of the faculty's knowledge-sharing series. He commended the guest speaker for thoroughly covering critical aspects of constitutional law. The event wrapped up with a dynamic question-and-answer session.
ABHA Card Drive

Health in Action as Students Lead ABHA Card Drive

Shoolini University students spearheaded the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) Card campaign, a health initiative by the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Over 30 committed students actively participated in the drive, focusing on raising awareness and enhancing enrollment, especially among fellow students. 

After comprehensive training sessions by health department officials, these students became effective ambassadors for the ABHA Card program. The Department of Health and Family Welfare praised the students for their exceptional leadership and rare proactive engagement in health awareness. 

Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla received a letter of appreciation from the health officials, acknowledging the contributions of the Dean Students Welfare office and the participating students.
Blood Donation Camp

Blood Donation Camp Marks World AIDS Day

Shoolini University marked World AIDS Day with a successful Blood Donation Camp organised by the Dean Students Welfare. The event saw active participation from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), with six doctors aiding the cause. The camp drew 130 donors, including many first-timers, supported by dedicated student volunteers for a smooth experience.

The event also featured an educational stall by students, providing vital information about HIV/AIDS and, challenging myths and enhancing understanding. Additionally, the presence of DATRI (an organisation dedicated to facilitating stem cell donations) was notable for their stem cell donation drive, with students contributing saliva samples for future matches.
