Placement and Career Development Cell

Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences

Mission

The mission of career cum placement cell is to enhance the employability of students and help them secure a suitable career.

Key Objectives

  • Create awareness among students regarding career options

  • Guide the students in developing skills and job search strategies required to achieve their career objectives.

  • Act as a bridge between student alumni and employer’s.

  • Taking feedback from industry and providing inputs on curriculum.

Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences has a dedicated and student-driven proactive placement cell, which looks after all activities related to career development, training and placement of students.

India’s current university education beyond the IIMs, IITs and a few leading institutions is partially relevant to the industry. Most students from Indian universities do not consistently have appropriate knowledge, competencies, communication skills or the attitude to succeed in the corporate world.

At Shoolini, we are actively working towards imparting industry relevant management education to our students to create an immediate employable pool of executives and managers. To achieve this, we have created a unique skills development program (SPRINT) that is modeled around Stanford University’s mini-MBA, for this objective.

The Placement Cell, in coordination with different faculties and schools, conducts campus placements through a gala event ‘Placement Week’, which is the first of its kind in Himachal Pradesh and is also in conformity with the IIMs and other top B schools in the country. During the placement week a large number of MNCs and leading companies visit our campus for on spot placements.

The purpose of having placement week is to provide a strategic platform to synergize and facilitate interaction between education and industry with an idea to provide our students jobs in corporate sector and industries, creating opportunities for students’ project-based learning and industrial training.

As a result, our placement program has emerged as the most distinctive among private varsities in India. In the past year, 107 leading Indian and multinational companies visited university for campus interviews. This makes Shoolini among the very few private universities in India to successfully run a placement week similar to premier public institutions such as the IIMs.

Over the years, Shoolini students have been placed with leading companies such as Genpact, ITC, Pepsi, Marsh and McLennan, Gabriel, Havells, Agilent Technologies, Alchemist, DAMCO and others. Shoolini’s final placements have been consistently best in the region across disciplines including MBA, engineering, pharmacy & biotechnology. This success at Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences comes from consistent efforts around skills up-gradation of students, exposure of students to industry and ensuring that the best Indian and global companies participate in the University’s placement drive.
