Shoolini educates neighbouring schools on International Day of Yoga
Solan: Shoolini University has been highly instrumental in promoting the interest and education of various aspects of yoga among the students of local schools in district Solan. The most important step in this direction was the inclusion of a B.Sc. in Yoga, which is headed by none other than vice chancellor PK Khosla, who is an eminent academician and a Yoga enthusiast.
Hence, on the occasion of 4th International Day of Yoga, Shoolini School of Yoga & Naturopathy, it was only apt that the department did something for the society around the campus. A team from Shoolini held a free Yoga camp at the government school in neighboring Sultanpur to educate children about the benefits of yoga for health and fitness. The students and teachers were also taught some helpful asanas that they can inculcate in their daily life.
The response to Yoga course at Shoolini has been overwhelmingly receptive. As Dr. Vinod Kumar, head (yoga and naturopathy) at Shoolini University says, "It gives profound motivation to intensify deeper interest in Yoga in the current times." He added that some tangible suggestions have been forwarded to AYUSH, which are meant to accomplish long-term impact on the schools visited so far. This is being done by inviting the physical instructors of these schools to undergo specially-designed Yoga courses on a regular basis at the university. "The strong will of our Honorable Vice Chancellor is the constant inspiring driving force to achieve the desired positive effect," he said.
