National Moot Court Competition concludes at Shoolini University
The 1st H&S National Moot Court Competition concluded at Shoolini University campus on October 8, 2017. The competition was organized by the university’s School of Law in association with Hammurabi & Solomon, advocates and corporate law advisors.
S.S. Thakur, former judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, L N Sharma, former Sessions Judge and Rohit Khanna, senior advocate of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, judged the final round. Several eminent legal luminaires, academicians and senior advocates graced the event.
The competing teams were given a case of a dowry death on which they had to present their arguments. Teams from Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala; Bahra University, Solan, National Law University, Shimla; HIMCAPES, Una; GNLU Patiala; Northcap University, Gurugram; Delhi Metropolitan Education, Noida; Alliance University, Bangalore; Panjab University Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur; Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla; Jagannath University, Jaipur took part in the competition.
The team from Panjab University’s Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur bagged the first prize of Rs 25,000. Northcap University, Gurugram and Bahra University, Solan took home the second and third prizes of Rs 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. The prize for the Best Memorial was bagged by Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala while Shivalika Pandey of Panjab University’s Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur was declared as the best mooter.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Shoolini University Prof. P.K. Khosla appreciated the efforts of the organizers for the successful conduct of the event and encouraged the students for their future endeavors.
