Spring Spirit – Flower Fest at Shoolini University
Shoolini University captured the spirit of spring by organising a Flower Festival on 10th March, 2014. Hundreds of people of the town thronged the university campus to enjoy the riotous colours of blooming flowers of hybrid Ranunculus, Double Petunia, Hybrid Marigol, Azalea, Camellia and many more plants, which were also available for sale to the public. The fest was inaugurated by Mrs Neelam Sodhi, an eminent floriculturist from Chandigarh.
A competition for the best annual and perennial flowering plants, shrubs, cacti and bonsai plants was also held. The other attractions of the fest were an adventure camp, food court, spiritual books’ stalls and science exhibits. Keeping in sync with the taste buds, tips on food preservation were given by the experts from the university The evening saw enthusiastic performances by the students of the university during the cultural programme.
