ASQ Board member addresses Guru lecture at Shoolini
Sunil Thawani, a renowned management expert and member of the Board of American Society for Quality (ASQ) addressed a Guru Series Lecture at the Solan based Shoolini University.
The ‘Guru Lecture Series’ is a bi-weekly event where luminaries from different sectors of society share their experiences and knowledge about excelling in life and how to go about it.
Thawani’s lecture on the topic ‘Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Process Management’ threw light on the important aspects of quality and satisfaction of the all the people associated with a company. Thawani also explained the need to understand and appreciate quality as the success of any enterprise depended heavily on it. He explained with real life examples how high quality enabled companies to reduce errors, increase customer satisfaction and enhance performance.
Author of the book ‘Business Excellence Awards-Strategies for Winning’, Thawani has over 30 years of experience in total quality management, business excellence, corporate governance, strategy deployment, re-engineering, six sigma, service excellence in industries like government, banking, real estate, oil, petroleum, management consulting, steel, logistics etc. He is the first recipient of the prestigious Lancaster Medal from the Middle East.
Thawani has provided leadership in implementing Quality and Excellence frameworks like Dubai Quality Award/ EFQM, International Management Systems Standards, Service Excellence model, OECD Principles of Governance etc. He has helped organizations participate and win prestigious regional, national and international awards such as United Nations Public Service Award, World Summit Alliance, Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award-Gold, Dubai Quality Award, MRM Business Award etc.
