Shoolini University's annual Flower Fest held on 17-18 March 2018 was a bigger hit than ever. It attracted visitors from the city as well as the surrounding areas. A mild winter sun set the pace for the weekend, which was enhanced by the glorious plants and flower arrangements on display. Lt Gen (retd) Kamal Davar inaugurated the festival, which also attended by other dignitaries like Sanawar headmaster Mr. Vinay Pande. Lt Gen (retd) Davar also launched an online stock and selling portal of the university ‘The Himalayan Flora’.
Dr. Amit Seth, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, has won Prof S.S. Bir Medal by the Indian Fern society for his contributions in the field of Pteridology, the study of ferns and related plants recently. He was also awarded a research project under the Young Scientist Scheme by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 2013.
Shoolini University is now the first university of the region to announce an initiative to work towards 100 percent employability for its students. Called the “Mission 130” programme, the university will work towards preparing graduates for better job opportunities and by partnering with top companies to attain its objective which aims at 100 percent employability for its graduates in quality jobs, while 30 percent will be able to pursue great careers.
